Why do I keep losing lock on the target

I can't tell why I'm losing lock on, I get hit or the mouse moves or something and then I lose lock then I get hit even more cause I can't block, don't remember it happening like this yesterday, seems to lose lock so easy now

You have to be close enough and if you have multiple targets you can switch between them with ALT.

Are you on controller? Are your lock on setting on "hold to keep locked on enemy"? If yes, It's probably that you're not pushing the L2/LT not in enough?

Or it might be that another device is inputing controlls for a short second or two. Make sure that only 1 device inputs controlls.

I'm using mouse/kb with the hold mode off, maybe I'm hitting shift key and running on accident I'll try to change that key

I had a similar problem:
During a duel, I was holding LT but my char kept losing focus (I clicked something in another screen). I changed it to "toogle focus" instead of "hold to focus" and "auto leave focus when sprinting".

sprinting loses lock.. its retarded but its what happens

Yeah sprinting causes losing lock and sprinting is on right stick press by defaults where you can just randomly press it while moving around in fights. Was like that for me.

There's an option in settings to change it from "hold to lock" to "click to lock/unlock".

Dodging and moving around is enough tbh. There are plenty people who unlock roll away enough.

maybe you touch your mouse if you use the controller. that cancels the lock
