any way to earn silver for offline mode other than buying it?
i just picked up the steam free starter edition since i was told the game had full private match/offline bot support so i was wondering was a way to earn silver to unlock the other classes without having to spend money or go online.

Why don't you want to play online?

There's the campaign. You can earn steel by getting the breakables and completing it.

pretending i dont live in an area that cant even promise 1 hour of consistant broadband internet, pvp in any game sends me into fits of toxic rage (even when wining) so i steer clear of them

does it pay out enuogh to buy heros?

It did for me. You can't buy all of them though. If I remember correctly, you can "try out" heroes without having to actually buy them. You just can't level them up, nor customize their gear.

started ed only lets you try the non dlc heros on the faction you chose at start

I believe you can play 'practice' mode with whoever you want.

My personal reasons:
As a newb, I'd like to have practice time to better learn the mechanics and maps without being curb stomped by vets.

Also, PvP communities are notoriously toxic. I'd much rather play against less challenging AI, then deal with squeekers, trolls, and tantrums.

Not to mention, I can't stand the only starting recruited heroes(power<finesse). I have zero interest in learning to effectively play a class just to reach another. Especially since I will abandon it at the first chance and never play it again.

Thank you for the clarification. Is it the same for training mode though ?

Warden and Kensei (starting heroes) are considered A+ tier.

Is there even voice-chat? And regular chat is deactivated by default.

The only problem with AI is that you can't outsmart them.

There is no voice chat, thank god.

Still a class type I can't stand playing. "You say you're allergic to shellfish... But have you tried crab or lobster?"

Childish sore losers don't need chat to grief/troll.

You really can't outsmart a mindnumbingly predictable AI?

If you're looking for Steel to unlock new heroes while also practising without PvP select a game mode, switch to PvAI and switch the matchmaking off by opening the screen with F1. This is a bot match but only you and your party. Way slower than PvP but its not stressful. Do that to learn basics, look up full punishes and guide on Youtube for the hero you choose. But to get good and know your limits I'd reccommend PvP. This game has pretty good PVE.

Quests, events and Contracts can be done in PvAI aswell. So every few days log in and do some AI for easy grind for steel.

The grind may be extreme, but you can unlock just about everything if you play enough, and if you so choose all of that play can be against bots. Contracts help a lot with getting steel.
