Having both Uplay and Steam version of For Honor problem! need help
Hello guys! You see few months back i got For Honor on Uplay platform, i didnt much gave it a chance yet as im quite busy but i was always looking forward to playing it. However there is one issue im having and im hoping you can help me with it and make me happy.

To the point:
Today as you know there was giveaway of free For Honror starter edition copies on Steam, and as that is my main platform where i keep most of all my games i would prefer to have For Honor there as well, im fully aware that i still need Uplay launcher etc i have Divsion for example like that, but as i said i prefer to have games on my Steam.

So as i already had For Honor on Uplay and now added Steam one, when i installed game on steam and try to launch it, Uplay pops and start asking where to install etc. When i go to show locate game files, Uplay say that they are invalid, i understand its because its deferent platform etc..

How could i solve this problem except hoping that Uplay support answer my request of deleting copy of For Honor i already had. Thing is, Ubisoft support is not very good, nor happy to hustle around with "stupid" requests etc. They are usualy clueless about basics and in most cases they just trow automated templates at you after like 7 days of waiting for response. So im not giving much hope in them. Thats why im hoping Steam community could help me with this?
Thanks in advance!

Hello XXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Support.

We would be happy to assist you with your request! No need to worry, we get such requests from time to time.

I understand you have gotten For Honor from Steam for free, however you already have it on Uplay. I would like to advise that it is not necessary to remove the older copy of For Honor from your account, as they are essentially the same versions. Deleting the old copy would also delete the new copy.

If you would like to play the Steam version, you would only need to delete the game files from Uplay and download it again from Steam.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We'll be happy to help!

Kind Regards,
XXXXXX

Are you starting the game through steam or through uplay as it sounds you have it installed through steam currently ? but still using the old uplay icon to launch the game ? i'm just a bit confused because i'm not fully understanding what your problem is exactly.

You can copy the files directly either from uplay to steam or from steam to uplay, as long as you have the right folder and verify files after manual copy/move you shouldn't have a problem.
Verifying files takes the longest, on a standard 7.2k rpm hdd your looking at 20 minutes total time, on an SSD you can halve that at least.

Problem is fixed, for some reason launching game again via steam (not game icon) did work. And now it works via game icon as well, maybe it just needed PC to rebot after unistalling Uplay version, as i did try to start game from steam created icon ( i checked before starting) and it didnt work yday, now its all fine.

hello there I know its been quite a while since that discussion ended but this is the only clue I have which is similar to my issue. the thing is u bought the game on steam. I dont have it on UPLAY. but every time I launch the game it the uplay windows popups and ask me about binding e account. so when I put my UPLAY identifications, it said : there was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product. so here I am with a game a bought and I connot play. its so frustrating guys!
please help me.
