Warden vs Lawbringer: Real Life
Who would win
Publicado originalmente por Emperor Fooble:
Given the physical strength of a knight, and the way that Japanese armour was created and the materials used, he wouldn't even need his weapon.
With an armoured gauntlet he could punch (and indeed they did) a man to death. A single hit, even through padding would be enough to crack ribs, cause major concussions and disable limbs.

Most fighting ends up in some form of grappling. Can you imagine someone of Japanese stature trying to wrestle against a man almost a foot taller, 40kg's heavier, and wearing 40-60kgs of metal, leather and cloth armour who has trained his entire life – from the moment he is able to walk – in grappling, weapons, and all aspects of warfare, and whose family had the resources to give him the very best start in life. Proper nutrition, training, best access to contemporary medicines and unlimited access to both written texts and verbal tips from combat veterans.

His armour that makes him almost impervious to unarmed strikes, can also be used as a weapon to strike, punch, kick, shoulder and simply overpower and opponent who has no such advantage.
And again, he has trained his entire life to wear, move and fight wearing his armour. His stamina and strength would be legendary, the very apex of human conditioning.

Even in wars between European nations, weapons like military picks and hammers became mainstream because bladed weapons were useless.

I mean no disrespect to the ancient Japanese warriors – they were a potent fighting force, and the best their people had. But they fought in a completely different time period, and in a vacuum that pitted them only against each other (until colonial powers with gunpowder arrived).

A fight between the armies of feudal Japan, and medieval Europe would be like sending 21st century US marines against the Confederates at the battle of Gettysburg. The technology and training difference would be too decisive.

Knights formed the pinnacle of mankinds warrior society.
I maintain that no fighting force has ever matched them, even until this day. The lifelong training from birth, access to equipment improved over hundreds of years and the resources of both their families and that of their kingdom/country that was spent on them.
They dominated every battlefield, anywhere in the world that they fought, regardless of enemy, climate or terrain.

I think it mostly comes down to which of the fighters is more skillful and has more experience, but otherwise Lawbringer has an advantage. Lawbringer's poleaxe is designed to overcome armor more easily than Warden's longsword, he has superior protection, he is heavier and I assume also stronger than Warden. Warden could damage Lawbringer by halfswording into the gaps with only mail in them or by murderstroking the head, so I believe he definitely could kill Lawbringer without wrestling if he wants. I think Warden's best bet could be trying to tire the Lawbringer out. This is a tough one.

Eh, maybe. Granting equal skill between the two fighters, the LB isn't likely to let himself get tired out by a Warden playing chicken. The technological gap between the two is immense, and it would take quite a bit of ineptitude or bad luck for a LB to lose to a Warden, as they're depicted in-game.

If the Warden had a mace, hammer or polearm, things might be different.

You're right about "murderstroking the head." I'd assume that warden being more manuverable could grapple lawbringer to the ground and bash in his head with halfswording.

If you whack lawbringer in the head hard enough it can damage them severely in the head like NFL players, or even possibly kill them

Lawbringer is like 200 y ahead of warden Armour wise, uses a battlefield weapon so good it was banned on a battlefield, and is a huge freaking badass. Warden would slaughter the rest of the cast but lawbringer stands on the top no questions asked. Assuming equall skills that is. Warden and conqueror have tools to compete vs lawbringer assuming they are very skilled unlike their big bro.

I don't think that would change much. The difference in reach and posture would still keep warden in unfavourable matchup.

Which one is the better fighter? You can't just go by gear alone.
JoBe 24 AGO 2018 a las 4:23
I do think that Lawbringer wins if the combatants have equal skills and experience thanks to his technological advantages, but I mean it shouldn't be an easy fight since Warden does have the tools to defend himself and kill Lawbringer if he makes an error or tries something foolish.

There's been a short documentary type thing on youtube by actual experts on medieval history (which anyone at ubisoft hasn't a clue in the world about)

And the Lawbringer was proclaimed the easy winner. A man of that size and strength who can wield a Pole axe and carry full plate armour that reinforced would be like the mountain from game of thrones.

They didn't even go into any detail about the samurai or vikings. Knights would simply slaughter them all.

But this is a video game so go into a game and find out. These days it's warden beats everyone.
This is such a crock of crap.. These never met so we never know.. Big does not always mean a win in combat.. speed, tactics and strategy wins..

And in most fights they are over in less than a minute either way.. Give me a proper Katana any day of the week over a great sword.. or a polearm..

A Katana would cut through plate armor if made accurately..

Unlike your two old men trying to hype up the katana craze over it being a lot stronger than it actually is. And are you talking about Metatron? So far he is giving out good points and making the old guys look like a laughingstock.
