Long answer: Yes, each report submitted to the team is thoroughly investigated and dealt with accordingly. Offensive emblems are not condoned by the team.
Here's the real question: would an upside down pentagram be a bannable offense? Not everyone follows this guys religious beliefs, and some religions see the pentegram entirely differently. That would be like banning someone because they had a man/goat head emblem (largely considered satanic) because it offendes someone's Christian beliefs.
No offense to the OP, but just because the emblem goes against your personal beliefs, it should not be a banable offense. So I'm really interested to know if such an emblem would be. And if so...where and how does Ubi draw the line?
I'm sorry, but I could easily turn it around if you had a cross on your shield (something very common by the Knight faction) and say your cross offends my Wiccan beliefs (not that I'm Wiccan, just an example). See the problem here?
Speaking of wiccan, many witchcraft type religions, including wicca, use a pentagram during their rituals, not as a sign of evil, but as a sign of protection.
Maybe some in this thread are laughing at you, I'm not. I'm legit asking if that kind of emblem is considered offensive because I think it is wrong to ban people over a religious or faith symbol. Again, no offense to you, but that is wrong to even expect Ubisoft to do.
Apparently not. You'd have to be pretty misinformed to take offense to a pentagram, one would assume. But that's just my atheist POV.
I'd argue that anyone with an inverted pentagram has a pretty good chance of using it just to be offensive (Warranting a ban) but the symbol itself isn't inherently "Evil" or "Satanic"
Providing the symbol is used satanically, that's just the flagship for their beliefs. No different than the Christian cross. Makes me wonder what would happen if I went around reporting crosses under the guise of "Being offended"
I'd probably be banned myself, actually.
Anyway, my bad. Kinda got carried away there but I'm slightly confused as to why this is actually a bannable offense in the first place.
Not trying to belittle you or anyone else. I'm actually curious. You didn't actually offend me at all, but I am very interested in Ubijurassic's answer to this. The thing is, what is considered offensive and what isn't can be very subjective and they need to be very careful what they ban or don't.
Just want to know where ubi draws the lines with offensive emblems and what they ban for.
I mean, the five points represent the spirit and the elements in Paganism, and it was even used by Christianity to represent the "Five wounds of Jesus"
