Brawls. Why do people 1v1?
Listen, if yer gonna play ♥♥♥♥in' Brawl, then dont get salty when you get 2v1ed. It's 2v2s, not 1v ♥♥♥♥ing 1s. If you're so concered about your lil "honorable 1v1s" then go play duel. Why do people get so salty when someone plays Brawl as Brawl and not as duel? Why even play brawl if yer gonna throw a fit if the enemy wont play it like Duel. Jesus, I knew this was a thing on PS4 as well because of all the WOW spam, but jesus christ people get REALLY salty about people playing Brawl as Brawl. Why do people go to Brawl for 1v1s? Is there a reason? Is there not a reason and it's just pure idiocy? Like ubi disabling chat by default? Duel exists for a reason.

Edit: I have recieved the answer that I sought

That with how "bad" 2v1s felt in this game early on, people would prefer to do 1v1s since a 2v1 felt "cheesy". Same thing happened with Elimination. It turned into a duel lobby with a bunch of 1v1s going on.

Elimination mode I just hate, and really think they should just delete that along with Skirmish now that we have Tribute. But I feel Brawl can be fun if you do a true 2v2, switching back and forth between targets. Wthile a 4v4 melee can just feel bad and spammy, with the Guard Stance UI flipping out, which is with it's best with the modes that have really good objectives.

I tend to find flailing in a 2v1 does more harm than good.

But if people have low skill, spamming in 2s is better than spamming 1-1

Quite a common question on the Dark Souls 3 forums, people seek respectable duels when it's not officially or universally accepted.

You do you, its not expected but you won't earn anyone's respect by tearing into someone's backside as they focus on your team mate, they have no right to insult you either but you should agree that it's irritating and doesn't feel like a loss when you're ganked.

I dont find it irritating because I know 2v1s is apart of Brawls, I'm pretty good at parrying externals so I can get revenge, pop it to auto-parry, lay into the boi on the ground once or twice (which usually results in them dead due to already fighting my teammate or already mid duel with me) and then focus on the remaining guy. If people find it irritating and think that it should only be 1v1s, then they should play duel. It's like expecting 1v1s in the 4v4 modes and getting upset when you get ganked, it's apart of the gamemode.

Thanks for the answer doe, fam

no offense to anyone when i say this, but this is how i feel about it.

The whole honor thing they say, No honor, It's kinda backwards when they start insulting you as a result. Me and my friend for example crave 2v2's, working together, teamplays, moving as a single entity. It can work in this game.

Right now we're sticking to "honor" as much as possible while we learn the fundimentals and try to work out how to deal with the annoying anti fun crap such as centurion

To me the problem is that people clearly want a game mode that doesn't already exist, and brawl is the closest to that. The mode I mean is a tournament mode. I haven't played DS3 much yet, but in DS2 these style of tournaments were also done by the community and for the most part people respected the rules when the game wasn't forcing them to. It was my favorite part about DS2.

The reason I play 2v2's is so I can play with my friend. When I play with my friend, I don't want to just steamroll them because he and I can communicate and just bum rush one person.
Treating a 2v2 as a 1v1 is a lot more fun for the both of us, because we both get a good fun fight.
Now, I don't particularly care if someone tries to 2v1 us, we just see it as a cheap move someone does because they know they can't win otherwise, and then we'll just 2v1 them the entire game.

Go ahead and keep 2v1ing people, as you said, its part of the gamemode, and there are no rules at all. If anything, you should be enjoying how salty they get.
Most people prefer the 1v1 / 1v1 style in brawls because they like a test of skill and getting spammed by 2 players just becomes a luck/guessing game.

Honestly if I join brawl and I want a 2v2 I just say in chat "Hey I'm gonna jump ya" some people say pls don't others say Bring it on ((&^/!

Everyone can do their own thing but I play brawl with friends with voice chat and if somone just jumps in no warning and ganks we stop playing nice and break out all the "cheese" as people call it.

In either case you do you brah.
