question about factions and the starter edition

so I bought the starter edition thinking i could just upgrade to the regular version ( turns out i can't oh well) and was wondering, i choose knights as i started the game and thus it is giving me the warden , conqurer and lawbringer playable, but I am really a fan of the Samurai faction.

would changing factions now allow me to play the base samurai heroes or is that not interchangeable.

Factions don't really matter for which class you can use. It might have unlocked which ones you started with, but you can unlock the other classes easy. All of the "base" Classes only cost 500 steal to recruit.

Not starter edition. They get hefty 15000 price tags on new heroes because they should start out with 6?? heroes unlocked already..

The faction you pick gives you their Vanguard hero and all the other heros of that faction, you still need to unlock them but you can play as them and try them. Unlocking only grants you the ability to customize them. You also get the vanguards of the other two factions. Which are actually powerful characters, Raider and Kensei. Kensei being top tier more or less, and Raider being a high midtier character (One that I personally main now.)

The post-launch season heroes are 15k across all versions, and can be permanently unlocked on a free weekend. Launch heroes are 500 in standard and 8k in starter, 7.5k of you buy them on a free weekend.
