But I sure ask people if they are in 4v4 when they taunt spam my corpse after i whipped the floor with them.
(But I know people considering it as the direct descendant to the old FPS style T-Bagging...)
Anyway, you have to admit, in most cases, it is not a huge display of maturity or sportsmanship or a deep sense of humour...
Some players or some specific conditions makes it -in the eyes of some people- turn from "a funny moment of epic lulz" to "nuclear waste toxicity level of behaviour".
I rarely resort to emote-spam on my enemies corpses. But when I do, I deserved it : be it surviving a 3v1 and killing them all or something super silly just happened, like a ledge/drop multi-kill or that sort of thing. There's no disrespect in my intent, nor it is meant to humilate my fallen foes. No one ever got mad at me for doing so.
Just sick of people instead of laughing at the lame valk/loud jor emote spam, they just report me and say mean stuff, like seriusly dude, its a game.
If I win, I find emote spam is pretty fun.
But if I lose, and people emote spam on my corpse... That would make me salty.
Well, even walking around is called edge walk.
Since it apparently is an offense to be reported and banned for, maybe stop doing it, most emote spammers do it to get a reaction out of their opponent... well keep in mind then that the reaction will be you getting permanently banned for it.
I'm not saying it's fair that it's there, but it is and players should keep that in mind.
So emote spammers, you are aware of this and yet you keep doing it, do you want to be banned or are you really that stupid?
Damn, I never know I can report for that reason.
Man, I have this kind of power all this times.
On the other side we also don't think its banable 100% of the time since we've been doing it since season 1 and only got a few bans, also as a sign of protest for some since emoting isn't toxic and derrogatory behaivor its as if we were removed the ability to crouch on tf2 because tbagging is toxic.
I agree, most emotes are fun when spammed, stupid even, but plenty other players don't think they're funny when spammed at them and a lot more just do it to be jerks, like Warlords using their kneeling emote to T-bag a fallen opponent.
Saying you've earned to do such actions towards someone who didn't deserve it (like getting ganked by a full team and revenge flat out denies the other 3 were hitting you), they might as well add Rape/Pissing executions/emotes, they did add the salt emotes after all.
Wether you think it's funny is irrelevant; a lot of players don't think it is and the Support them responsible to deal with toxic behaviour is in agreement of it.
As is now, yes they have the right to do whatever they want as long as it's not illegal. I guess you could go to court with the issue if you feel that it's a case of theft should you be banned permanently from the game. Which is really what it is if the company does it for something so small in the grand scheme of things.
I never liked the "Game as a Service" mentality, to me it's more or less thievery disguised as something else.
I buy the game, I do what I want as long as it's not illegal (like cheating for instance), not performing stupid armwaves and squaking like a bird that has been touched in the head (Shinobi's Dirty Bird emote), or perform a wierd hand shuffle (Tiandi's Show and Tell emote).
It's because in this day and age, people complain about tiny things (so much more than ever), and if they don't get what they want, they leave the game. Problem is, this puts companies at a loss, so the best option for them is to appeal to the complaints (Ubisoft and rainbow six siege, banned for toxicity fiasco) which I agree is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
But a valid argument can be made, Ubisoft in particular.
It's a very widely, praised and beloved company, who for all intended purposes has a goal to make cash. Really this is true for all companies, (this is a very cynical view, but some people need to provide for their families, but they may also enjoy making games) the best way for any company to make money, is followers, investers, people who will stay with the company if they gain money, while also giving Ubisoft money. So Ubisoft best attempts to appeal to the largest audience, while also gaining money.
But sometimes, companies sway to one side, in the case of Battlefield 5, where EA tried the stupidest tactic to attract attention, saying "Don't like it, Don't buy it". This is a example of a company going too far when trying to appeal to a group, (just fyi, I'm not a sjw, and think this whole thing is right in some aspects but also stupid, mostly in EA's decisions)
So companies need money, but also need to make sacrifices sometimes. Companies do make mistakes tho. Ubisoft banning emote spam, EA saying "Don't like it don't buy it". The people who gave the order or carried out the order in EA, were probably fired, and they deserved it. So can we judge them? Yes, yes we can, and this also allows companies to better improve upon decisions in the future.
