I highly recommend getting the standard edition tho, since its not as grindy (base heroes can be played, but 500 steel to customize them, 15k to unlock DLC heroes), and its currently on sale on Uplay (i think its 75% off).
It all depends on you tho, if you want to get it free, and grind for it, or buy the game, and grind a bit less.
If you only like a small assortment than al la carte may be cheaper. ( if u only want 3 or 4)
U can try the heroes for free in training.
