Why Am I So Terrified of Playing Online?
I never understood this, my childself would be disappointed with me because he'd never pass up a challenge to fight someone. When the beta of this game came out as well as the first couple of free weekends, I was playing online 24/7 having a great time. Now when I play online in any fighting game, for some reason I just feel terrified and my heart beats faster then usual, I feel like that the whole game, even if we're winning. And when I lose or am losing, I just get annoyed while still feeling anxious. I don't understand why I feel like this, this isn't normal. I'm fine when I play shooters because I know how to land a headshot easily, but why do I feel like this online for any fighting game?

Lol, I feel the same. I get cold hands playing online. But I guess its normal for me now, since I've been playing FH for a pretty long while now
Scream at them "Accept my Love!!!" I would make up ridiculous stuff. Got rid of any tension. Back when everyone was complaining about peace keeper I would call her my lover when fighting her.

If you are really feeling fearful of playing online, then that probably means you are afraid of what you'll encounter. Afraid of toxicity, unfair matchups, and generally speaking having a bad experience.

Always remember that for honor is just a game and there's no real need to sweat it. Don't think about it much. Just play, and if you are having a bad time, take a break. There's nothing more to it than that.

It's not the same for me, I'm just angry and frustrated. You get ganked, face toxic players, face players who cheat or players who play characters that you keep telling the community are either awful to deal with and have to be fixed somehow, only to have the self-procclaimed "intellects" claim that you're wrong and Aramusha is an awful hero!

And then the data shows everyone that Aramusha is actually good. Whoops.
It's fun to read these "Intellects" explain why the data is wrong and they're still right. It's cute.

There's still PvAI, PvP just straight up sucks right now, sure you'll have one or two matches with some alright people, but the rest is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ganking, taunting and developers stroking their throbbing ♥♥♥♥♥ claiming everything "is in gutt place reight nuw"

It's a justified fear in For Honor, sadly. Matchmaking is really awful and people are terribly abusive. If there are cheesy moves, they'll more than likely be spammed, you'll face people who just want to spam taunts to try to shark their opponents, it's overall kinda toxic.

The game's in better shape than it's been, but it's still got some deep problems with it.

I'm like that with any online game. Just gotta force yourself to get over it and eventually it all works out fine.

To be fair, that sounds like just about every PvP game.

I mean, it's easy to say that "only data matters", then close your eyes and not think about the matter anymore, but the "intelluctuals", as you call them, simply do a bit more research on the subject, showing how the data can't really be trusted.

Things like the fact that this graph was from all the platforms, where in console due to the 30 frames aramusha actually can be good, can't be ignored.

Of course by the time you find these explanations as nothing more than "fun", well, there's nothing to discuss.

Normal feelings of getting judged in a very judgemental community.

Hey, Joseph Seed!

It happens to a lot of us. I too get some of the feelings you describe. Something that helps me get along is that you just have to remember that losing is just a part of the game. Try not to be too hard on yourself with a loss and instead look at what could have been done better in the previous situation you were just in. You just have to forget about people on the other team (or even your own) antagonizing you and just try to focus on having fun.

Also, Try not to focus or think about the person on the other side of you and just focus on what you know. This is my biggest problem in online games. I get too focused on whether my opponent is better than me or not and this is just setting myself up to get into my own head and intensify those anxious feelings. I instead just have to focus on what I know and execute. Then the game becomes so much more fun and I find that I do a lot better.

This is all just my personal advice as I can totally relate. I hope it helps!
