Best Character For New Player?

Hello, I've just picked up the game today and I'm wondering which character would be a good jumping off point for someone who knows virtually nothing about the nuances and game mechanics outside of what is demonstrated in the tutorials. My first inclination is to start with the Warlord since he seems like a solid first character to start with but again, they all look pretty cool. Any advice would be appreciated :)

I'd also say Warden or Kensei, they have pretty decent kit and are "newb friendly".
You might stick with them for some time and once you learn the basics of other heros as well, I am sure you will pick up someone else.

You can play all modes against bots if you're not comfortable against ppl yet. But be aware that ppl play quaite differently than bots and each person has somewhat different playstile even with the same hero. So only way to get gut is to play and play, than play some more... :D

You can chack some YT vidos for few tips and tricks. Also, you'll meet a lot of salty ppl, some will write toxic in chat or spam emotes so don't let them get to you and have fun :)

I would say Kensei is a good pick, any Wu Lin besides Nuxia, I'm also gonna go ahead and disagree with what the first guy said and say that Warlord isn't a terrible first pick. he's got a fairly basic kit that's easy to learn and has great survivability. He's not as good in 1v1s but he isn't bottom of the barrel tier either. I would say if you play a lot of 4v4s then Warlord is a good pick. Or if you have no self respect at all you could go for Warden, BP, etc. just for the easy wins.

Out of all 4 Wu Lin I can only recommend Tiandi for a new person. JJ isn't doing very well on his own, and Shaolin is quite technical.

True. Shaolin is complex but I feel like if you can figure him out then he will teach you a lot about the game so that's why I recommended him. As far as JJ goes he's just my favorite Wu Lin so that's half why I recommended him lul.

yes, mostly players start to counter well these heroes after many hours played in game. i started to counter orochi after 300 playing on and off.

And Shaolin's defense is basic, he's better off doing offense anw. And OP doesn't need that for now.
