I personally think something with the Matchmaking algorithm as gone screwy.
I just recently decided to come back as no chinese hero felt interesting to me nor BP nor hito felt interesting to me. First match I play today in PVP, I'm alone with 3 COMPLETE noobs (less than 5 OVERALL rep) and I have 86 overall rep. Thing is, as I explained just above, I didn't play in about 10months easily if not more so I'm essentially back at noob lvl. And the enemy team has 2 noobs with less than 10 overall rep but 2 really good players that clearly never stopped playing like I did with each having 90+ overall rep.
Needless to say, it was an extremely frustrating experience. I don't plan on returning to FH anymore. Getting decimated by players that just never stopped playing since release is not fun. In a fighting game, I expect to face opponents of similar skill lvl to mine.
How is the game supposed to know you took a break and aren't as good as before? It can only go off of your reps and win rate which haven't changed at all.
Edit: there are MANY games that deduct/lowers your ELO/rank/skill score whenever you spend a certain amount of time without playing the game and, the longer you stop playing, the more it gets lowered.
Yeah there are games like CS:GO that lower your actual rank when you don't play but as you know the ranked mode in this game is dead.
In short, even without considering me (that is essentially a noob after not playing for so long), my team had 3 fresh/new players while the enemy team had 2. That kind of game shouldn't be a thing where you have players with a handful of hours of experience with the game that play with/against ppl that have hundreds of hours. 5 players with not even 20 hours on the game play with/against ppl with EASILY 500+ hours lol...
Believe me I agree that the matchmaking needs work and I do hope eventually they get to making it better.
