In my opinion just do 2v1 the mode is called 2v2 and not 2x 1v1.
Actuall 2v2s are much more fun then “Honor” duels.
One could assume they 'play' the way the game is meant to be played...
- Duels : Bots will emote (borderlin spam) every single time they manage to kill you.
- Brawls : Both enemy bots will directly and firstly pick the shortest path leading to the player and focus on him/her.
- Every other modes : 'Friendly' Bots act as if you weren't there : interupting you left and right, turning you into a support role to them, when it should obviously be the other way arround.
I read somewhere a part of Bots' behavior is based on how players play... (No idea if this is true)
Now, back to 'honor' : Make your own choice. Deal with it.
Do you prefer victory at all cost or a virtual banner showing how good of a white knight you are ?
In other melee fighting games that came before this one, if there was an elimination match going on, some people on the winning team would stop and let the last opponent on the other team 1v1 it out, to give them a sporting chance. It is referred to as "1v1 last man".
Some people call for it, some complain over it, but others like the pathetic and win-hungry Gaser are too desperate and obsessively gank while behaving like they won a fair fight while others just shake their heads and pity someone that petty.
It's not hard to believe that a lot of people aren't as invested in securing a win that badly. Some people are more interested in a quality fight more than they're interested in some pointless little number on their screen.
Obviously, nobody is obligated to follow those unspoken rules. That's where the 'honor' assumption comes in, because people are *choosing* on their own not to gank. It doesn't take much to chase after easy victories, it takes a lot more to hold back and wait for worthwhile ones. :)
Allowing your teammate to die because you don't like how they play.
What the ♥♥♥♥ is honorable about that. I don't care about the honor rule, but i've always found it funny how the people who do. Literally admit and feel proud that they break the rules of the game. "My teammate didn't let them execute me so i let him get ganked, that'll show him haha!" So stupid.
If everyone agrees then fine go ahead and have your little tea party of a match. But the most fun this game has to offer in Brawls is when its a literal 2v2 with target switching and unlock attacks.
Not glorified 1v1s. You know why people have honor in 2v2s and do 1v1s? Cause they wanna show off there video game skills to other people. Not win.
There's no honor in complaining so myself and many others wouldn't stand in your way of your precious win count. But that really works both ways. You can't force us to change anymore than we can force you. This is how people are choosing to fight. Deal with it. B)
And while it is technically against the rules, I've never seen anyone banned for it. In a way they are avoiding feeding revenge, so that's already a grey area to be banning people over.
I avoid Duels cause everyones so smelly in there. They'll turtle the ♥♥♥♥ out ya the moment they get down to 1 bar of health and the fight that just took you 1 minute to get there is gonna take you another 2 to finish them.
Brawls in glorified 1v1s because of people like you. I stopped playing Brawls because of people like you who are just like 1v1 players. Now i just play Dominion cause people don't really care enough to turtle for 2 minutes. Its great and there's feats if they do.
That's a completely different scenario. If you are the one being ganked, most people will stop 1v1s and help out.
But then I suspect you probably ganked, and as a consequence, the enemy team revenge-ganked you while your teammate just stood back and then the remaining 3 players would 1v1 it out. Well that's tough ♥♥♥♥ for you. You selfishly wanted to play your way when the majority of the match's participants weren't down for that. But if you like getting ganked, that shouldn't bother you. You can still try to do as much damage as you can to help your teammate out for his 1v1s.
Okay, so you have a bias towards 1v1s. That explains why you don't like it. Doesn't mean others have to share that bias.
Get a friend to join you in brawls and help you gank then. Nobody is stopping you.
My point was you're so proud of your honor that you won't get off your high horse and just ya know. Brawl.
Also selfishly? Yeah its a game. Like everyone else i care more about my fun than someone elses. We all play games for fun. To reiterate myself: I care more about my fun than yours and you care more about yours than mine. That's how this relationship works.
Yes i admit i am bias against 1v1s. I'm also bias against honor cause i've played this game since the beginning. I did play with friends in the past and the only times we had honor was when we were being BM. But i like playing by myself now. (That sounded wrong)
The OP was asking for our opinions on honor you gave yours and i gave mine. Lets not sit here arguing about honor. It obviously won't get anywhere since i think its against the rules, and you think its fine.
I just simply prefer a quality fight. 1v1s and tag-team 2v2s are just more fun for me than ganking. I think that's the main reason why people do it.
The only "honor" part is how unspoken it is. Nobody organized any sort of "Honor" club. People are just choosing to do this. Sort of like how Birding is managed entirely on the "honor system".

What do you all make of that?
