For Honor

Untrusted system file (C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll)
This started popping up very recently and now almost every time I tried to run For Honor I just get the blue screen of death. How can I fix this?

I've tried reinstalling twice and verifying the integrity files multiple times.

Right click - properties - Local files - browse local files -> EasyAntiCheat -> Delete Certificate folder.

Ah, but I saw that somewhere else and tried that already but instantly got the blue screen.

All you can do now is repair/reinstall windows.

Hey, Koushik Ayame!

Sorry to hear that you are getting that error. shell32.dll is in relation to the graphical user interface for Windows operating systems. I would recommend you reach out to Microsoft Support for this error.

I hope that you manage to get this resolved.

Well for a start to fix my problem, I finally reinstalled Windows a few days ago and For Honor worked for a little bit and then broke again. The same exact problem is occurring.

Hey there.

This error is generated by EAC and usually indicates a system level corruption. Can you attempt all of their suggestions on their troubleshooting FAQ under "untrusted system file" here[www.easy.ac] if you haven't already done so, please?

I have done the SFC scan thing twice before and both times it said it found corrupted files but could not fix them. I looked at this website before but never got around to doing anything because I don't have enough knowledge on computers by myself. I suppose it might not matter anyway because I do plan on starting clean with a new hard drive this weekend hopefully. If I can't start with the new hard drive, then I will make sure to work on this with a family member who actually knows what their doing.

I have done everything I can do to fix this problem. I've looked at my fire wall, anti virus, deleting my Razer Synapse stuff and everything on the list Easy Anti Cheat provides to do. It said, "If all else fails, do a clean install of Windows." I have done that twice now and even wiped my hard drive, but still for SOME REASON any game I try to play that uses EAC Will. Not. Work. I have done the SFC scan multiple times after I wiped my hard drive, and it always says there were no integrity violations.

What is going on? This makes absolutely no sense.
