Deathmatch, Tribute and now Breach??
Sooo why don't people play these?
I really wanna play Deathmatch, Tribute and now Breach. But Im restricted to Dominion and DuelsI but can't really play any of them because no one plays them.
People only play Dominion.

-Like Tribute people complain that it can turn around one a dime. or it takes too long.
I dont know if it has a timer.(its been that long) If there isn't a timer would help alot. Maybe just 10-15mins for as long as an average Dominion game goes on for.

-Deathmatch I have no idea why people dont play this. I think it died was way back then when For Honor was REALLY toxic. Especially in Deathmatch. But I dont know for sure
Or maybe its just the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Shinobis that run away when they're the last one not letting the round/match end.

-Now Breach?? I mean yeah its a total gamble if you're getting a ♥♥♥♥ team or not.
It also sucks when your team sucks ♥♥♥ when they're defending because you have to sit through all three phases with them.

Is there a way to revive these modes? I mean people just dont wanna play them just because even if they dont know why.
Or they don't because they dont wanna wait for half an hour. But that just makes it worst. and it just repeats till the modes are dead.

I mean they all can be fun gamemodes. Like we need to fix this. 3 gamemodes out of 6.
So like half of the gamemodes no one plays.

real deathmatch where you just kill players till the end is cool but skirmish or whatever is just 4v4 brawl lol

death match died shortly after the very first free weekend they had like back in season 2. people used to do their 1 v 1s and watch the others fight but the influx of new players kinda broke that honor rule and it turned into a ganking snowball cheese match where people would just run around to try to gank first. ever since then it died.

personally i stopped playing duels after a few months when the game first came out because literally the only thing people did was unlock tech and or safe unblockable spam. a lot of wardens and pk's doing zone parry's. it was boring because people would abuse whatever mechanics they could that were the safest so it sucked. skirmish and deathmatch were really popular at first then skirmish kinda died off and deathmatch followed it after the free weekend. I don't play breach because its so painful when your team is trash which is about 9 games out of 10 for me it seems. so that brings us to dominion.

breach is fun if your team is atleast half competent

I like the game modes too. but I just end up playing solo after waiting 15+ minutes. I still try to be a team player, but I have had more than enough do kill stealing as well, like making an attack that connects just as I pushed an opponent off the edge for an instakill. But since they hit the opponent last, they get the kill and I lose points.
I am normally a defensive type player, to guard a spot and keep enemies at bay until backup arrives, but often times, no one comes and i end up getting ganked on an 3v1 fight and losing the spot. And more irritating when players start insulting me because i lost the spot. I'm not the greatest player, but I'm not horrible either.

So hard to find good teammates these days.

I know this is a bit of an older thread but here's my two cents on at least Breach.

Breach is horribly unbalanced. The defenders have the overwhelming advantage (except for the commander phase). With attackers having to go against both a timer, lives, and the rams health vs the defenders just having to worry about the ram for the most part.

At the same time, defenders also kinda screwed over. I feel like the map design really isn't as balanced as it could be, with some maps being a struggle to take the first rampart and others dropping the rampart before defenders could even get there. The placement of the health flag either being to close to the defenders or too close to the attackers.

It's gets even worse during the final phase where the balance completely flips in favor of the attackers unless the defenders were able to get enough kills and bring the tickets down to single digits. Plus the Commander AI is absolutely atrocious. They really should have just had that be a player controlled entity.

And then there's also the fact that Breach on average takes about 20-30 minutes per match and gives such mediocre rewards that it's ultimately not really worth it. Unless the developers/publishers stop being completely greedy (which won't happen) and rebalance the economy to be more fair, these modes are going to stay as dead/near dead as they are.

It's a problem many multiplayer games have. Too many game modes and not enough players. Factor that in with one being seen as the "main" mode of the game and the others are immediately categorized by the player as niche or side-modes.
I don't think you can really fight it except to not stretch out your base with too many modes in the first place and end up with dead ones. People will play what they will and even if you like a game mode because it maybe requires more skill or teamplay, most will gravitate towards the lowest common denominator.

People don't play Breach? I haven't played that much lately, but I can only remember one instance lately where I couldn't find a match, and that was at like 1AM.

I know in NA if you play at peak times you can find breach games, although queues are longer than dom.

Breach is WAY too complex for most of the game's playerbase, and Deathmatch is not played due to fear of griefing/toxidity.

I really like Breach, but I gave up trying to play it with others a long time ago. Queues take more than five minutes, which is too long for me to wait only to be matched with people that will probably get lost on the map.

They need to hand out more xp for those game modes. They could make some cool game modes too, but aren't trying hard enough. I have some pretty great ideas such as making a small open world arena where players can challenge each other and spectate. Have NPCs walking around cheering, drinking, and being apart of the crowd. Maybe add in lions, tigers, and npc bosses, and chaos game modes in the arena.

The only gripe i have with Breach is that it takes too long to play. I'm OK with bad teammates and losing, but instead of losing 1 Breach game, I'd prefer losing 3 Doms in the same timespan.

Tribute / Breach :

game mechanics and balance aside, those modes are really cool with a pre-made team on vocal-com.
But, I guess most of FH players only play 'solo' through random public MM, so they don't (have to) care about other people's strategy/tactics or opinion. They don't have to follow 'orders' or give some, so it's basically comfort-zone game experience.

The issue seems to be that Breach and Tribute actually require more team-play in order to win, or just at least to counter any other team, if it's made of other randos picks, but with better individual skill.

And probably, the respawn timer can be too long (and too punishing) for most players who only play the game in short sessions.

Deathmatch :

Considering the current pop and the current state of MM (being matched with players ways above or below your league) it makes sense the mode is unpopular. If you're the weakest link in Elimination, you spend the whole match spectating others, to finally witness your team lose = no fun.

Also, I don't like that there are pickable bonus, both in Skirmish and Elimination. Other than that, both modes are also Deathball simulators, so I guess every one favors Dominion anyway because of shorter queue times.

tribute has its flaws take a bit of dmg?
well you best have a healing feat cause there aint no heal zone on the map.
and breach.......... it takes too long for the measly rewards losing a game? well enjoy the 15-20 mins of shame. that on top of the horrid balance on that mode and it frags some peoples machines(yeah i don't know how either but one crash too many for them apparently)
