Any tips in general for a Warden or Gladiator?

I find myself getting beaten around a lot often in duels, rather than in modes like dominion. Normally if I was a scrub I would be alright with losing, but I'm already Rep 13 with Warden and it's kinda getting depressing seeing myself continously lose to people without any improvement whatsoever. That being said, I could use some help with my favorite hero and second favorite.

if you get beat in duels, that means you're kinda a scrub, rep/xp/level has nothing to do with skill, you have to practice my man, and there are no gear stats in duels unlike other game modes. I feel like at rep 13 you would know the ins and outs of how he plays.

As a low rep player I've out duelled rep 10+ wardens as a warden, its practice, I'll sit in free mode and fight lvl 3 bots to where I never die or take minimal damage as a warm up before I hop into multiplayer

But even with the amount of time I've put for the Warden, my playstyle is still outmatched by most people who are just plain better than me, even with practice, and I don't really know what to do in such situations where people are just better than me.
