Customizing Own Color Palettes Suggestion/Request
More or less what it says in the title, I'm sure many before have asked to be able to create their own Color Palettes for their characters, which is understandable as the existing palettes are either ok or simply ugly in a sense.

There are a few reasons why it is setup like this; for one when it comes to Attacker and Defender colors, they follow the pattern of more aggressive colors being mainly shown for attackers (orange, red, yellow) or more calmer mainly for defenders (blue, Purple, Green).
This is to create a clear difference between the players when in team modes (even though nobody really looks at what color the character is; they just look at the health bar and locks onto it).
Another reason is of course, to have more to unlock by getting new costumes either by leveling or buying with steel.

I've thought of this and I think I can come with a suggestion that keeps the system of getting new colors through leveling, but still allowing players to create their own colors as they please.
The Palettes are set up like this:

Primary: Main color (Ex: Dusk - Black, Storm - Black)
Secondary: Color of Pattern (Ex: Dusk - Orange, Storm - Blue)
Symbol: Color of Symbol (Ex: Dusk - White, Storm - White)

Based on this, I suggest the following:
Each character loadout has one empty Palette for Neutral, one for Attack and one for Defense colors. As players progress with their specific character, they unlock the existing premade Palettes that they then can take the colors from and use on their own custom Palette.
A player may not use a palettes secondary on their primary, but they can use the primary of a palette for their own palette primary.

Example: I take the Primary Color of the New Retro, the Secondary Color of Honor Bound and the Symbol Color of Sea Raven.

Players can use any of the unlocked palettes for their Neutral colors, but can only use the colors available in the Attacker and Defender sections for the same colors. This will keep the color choices as the developers intended, but allows players to more or less pick and choose color combinations that they prefer over existing palettes. This would also keep the interest in leveling and unlocking/buying new outfits, not just for the patterns and symbols, but for the palettes as well, as they might have a Primary, Secondary or Symbol color that is desirable.

Example: I want to unlock the Sun Dawn Secondary Color for my own Palettes Secondary Color, the only way I can get it is by keep playing and level that character up.

This way I think developers can keep making new outfits with new color palettes for the game and players can still have the fun in combining different colors into their own palettes, it will create more unique color combinations on the field, within the limits that will be there obviously, but now less limiting than before.

Any thoughts on this?

I had an idea for the neutral colors, where you would get a free color palette based on the colors chosen for the background and 2 of the elements of your emblem.

Have to agree that it would be nice to create your own though. Even though it would take rewards out of leveling, since you would almost certainly only use your own.

Not entirely, as stated for the custom palette would have it's colors picked from the ones you've already unlocked, if there's a shade of blue you didn't like, then perhaps there's a shade of blue down the leveling path that might suit better?

If anything this to me seem to increase the rewards when leveling, you don't just get a new Color Palette, you now get a Primary, Secondary and Symbol color from this Palette as well.

I've certainly seen the suggestion before. I'll make another note and send it along to the team. :)

This is actually a pretty good idea. Still have to unlock the colors the same way, but make your own palette based on them. +1

Thanks! I hope the contrsctive idea makes the team happy at least, given how much negative energy is thrown around here otherwise.

That's exactly the thought!

I never really understood why they had locked finite color options. Other than to try and sell outfits or have some boring form of progression.

However, at the very least, they should have it as a Max Level Hero reward (for each hero).

I'd love to see a custom palette option
maybe just a single one where you can change each color to your liking
or have preset colors you can choose but you get to decide where the color is applied
