Chinese and Russian languages only
So, I am from the UK, but I have lived and worked in China for many years now. Steam has been fine and I have been purchasing using China's Steam store.

However, for this game and others from Ubisoft I now see this:

Purchases made in this region will only receive the Russian and Simplified Chinese languages

I cant read/listen to chinese or russian....so what am I supposed to do? Whole point of region locking is that I buy from area I am resident in. So yes, I could buy from UK store but this is against Steam policy...

Seriously ubisoft? what is the point in language locking?

Coz they are dumb af. I have no idea why they chose that over simple region lock (i.e. you can't play the game outside of these countries). Russian localizations suck, but in Rainbow Six Siege you could alter some game files in order to change language to English. I wonder if it would be also possible with FH.

You can buy a Global Edition from taobao.

Its more than likely due to legal limitations placed on selling the product in that country. This isn't normally a choice made by the developer but forced on by the publisher due to aformention limitations. If you can't buy it on steam, I am certain you can find a version somewhere else with english as an available language.

There are no such legal limitations in any given country. It's just weird Ubisoft's choice, since it is both a developer and a publisher.

This is Ubi's policy. Same crap with Rainbow Six Siege.

...and with Division, Watch Dogs, latest ACs and almost any other title. I know it's their policy, I just can't see the point of doing so.

If you use VPN or smth (though I'm not sure it is even possible anymore) to pay our regional price, which is less than $60, then you probably will not be able to play the game due to it being in Russian on Chinease.

They could just make it region-locked so you can't play it outside that region for sure, not probably.

Oh ok. I assumed this was due to some trading standards law garbage set by the chinese government. Odd and curious choice for ubisoft to make though. I hope you find a solution friend!

That is what everyone does and what I would have done.

Chinease and Russian are not the easiest languages to learn. No VPN or whatever will help you.

Thx, and there IS a solution actually, but it is kinda semi-legal and cumbersome: people have done it with R6S by replacing certain localized game files with the original english ones.

There is no guarantee it will work with FH.

True. Most likely it will, but it's not the fact.

This is because steam store in China has got lower price than the U.K, they did a limitation on this to prevent some people who buy games from China and sell to U.K players.
