Valkyrie tips?
Hi, could those of you who played a lot of Valkyrie give me some tips? I youtubed it, but it's mostly generalized stuff and rarely did I see some coure of action videos.

I started to level her, and I noticed that I don't do superior block light attacks at all. Same goes for dodge-block-bleed (shoulder pin, was it?). And I very rarely do shield tackle.

I seem to play her similar to raider (parry-gb-stamina loss-focused), so my ocd about not using her kit is kinda giving me a hard time:)

So, basically, how do you play her?

Unfortunately after spending some time trying to get a handle on Valkyrie as my backup hero (Lawbringer main), the best strategy I could come up with was "Give up and sub-main Berserker instead..."

well you need exp, try first play with ai bots or try to go with pvp and die alot till you can work on your play style, i lvling her too and it not too easy to play on she like on orochi, kensei, bers

she really need a buff, maybe a higher damage and faster ability so making it like hybrid congueror. Adding a default low bleeding damage to all attacks would also work. Here's hoping to do main the hybrid heroes, instead I just replace valkyrie with raider.

Try practicing the shoulder thrust ability, that bleed damage will help a lot and if you master this ability then you'll be scary as hell.

Best tip for Valkyrie: don't play Valkyrie.
JK, she's very heavily reliant on mind games, you'll have to switch things up very often.

her problem is, that her mixup isnt safe, unlike warden etc.
when the opponent guesses right and knows what hes doing, he can punish you.
but some general tips:
vs assassins, be rly cocky. you gotta use your light startup block. if they try to dodge-hit you, just chain a second light. keep your block in the direction of pk's zone attack and on top vs orochi.
be aware of your mixup/wanna-be vortex. after your shieldbash you can either go for the legsweep or a gb. both chain into a guaranteed top heavy and another shieldbash.
you can cancel your allblock-stance into a dash gb to suprise your enemy.
if you land a deflect hit, it actually counts as a heavy and you can chain a shieldbash.

if you parry stuff like for example the pk jump, gb and push them instead of hitting a heavy. your push drains stam and sets em to 0% stamina. follow with a jump-in light, hit a second light and chain a legsweep. that one is guaranteed to hit. than you get a followup free overhead.

wait for her buff.

She has one of the best cheeses in the game heavy, grab, down on heavy attack, dash forward heavy, block, dash forward heavy. You can nail someone three times with the cheese. The first heavy doesnt even have to swing since you can immediatly cancel it with the bash. Dont rely on this because your stamina is now gone. 1 or 2 max then see the following >

Poke from all angles dash to the side opposite of your sheild because ussually they gaurd in that direction just pay attention to where your opponents looking and try to round out your pokes to get that stun.

On another note the shoulder pin is rare to pull off since the window is one of the smallest in the game you have to know what your opponents going to do before hand and bait them into a heavy. Say... you want them to heavy you from the top? keep your sheild at the side.

Her power comes from her stamina drain a sheild bash and swipe will rek an assasin or LB due to the stamina loss.

Parry. Parry. Parry.

everyone know valk has extremely good moveset, just the damage its a joke and heavys too slow, leaving only knockback combos as a source of damage (sadly you cant execute people on the floor) so people just need to dodge the spear sweep to win.

Alas since her heavy its soo bad its kinda obvious she will always hard feint it or change it to a shield bash.

Thats why I smack'em on the ground = 1 light attack from anyone else. lol
Her pokes don't do damage either so yeah to conserve stamina poke but you can still nail them on the ground.

Her health is another issue gg if you get caught by Kensei or Warlord.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

To the "don't play her"/"she's weak" crowd: it's not that I don't have a sense of humor, but you are overdoing it lol:) I mean, I know all about her shortcomings and all that, I know she needs a buff, I don't think she is going to be viable even after the patch, as the buff doesn't address the iffy vortex and heavy hit damage. I just wanted to know how people utilize her in general. I don't have problems in pvp with her or anything (only those coming from low damage, ie getting double-teamed because I couldn't kill someone fast enough, that kind of thing. I do play her worse than Raider or Nobushi, but that's understandable, as she IS worse and I just started playing her), I don't have problems with confirming into shoulder pin etc. I just feel I am not using her whole moveset.
So, I asked how people play her, not if she's viable. I played this game for long enough and I suspect you've seen me on the forums so, while I appreciate the joking aspect, it's not really what I asked, nor it is helping when it gets chain-spammed:)
I am playing other characters as well.

Is the allblock cancel a thing? I see it in moveset, but I don't know how/when to do it?

Yes, I've been doing the headbutt-dash light- light - legsweep - overhead heavy. But that's exactly my inquiry. Should I do other stuff? I mean, if I want to make them run out of stamina, I should parry and then gb, push them, parry etc. That pretty much means that both light hit parry and shoulder pin practically do nothing for me. So, I want to know are people using those at all? The out of stamina combo is the only thing she can do to do some good damage - I mean, she could do shoulder pin, but there's no confirmable followup.

All block cancel is dash in any direction.

After a successfull pin immediately bash and swipe.
