Strict Nat - Opening ports does nothing
Hey guys. Just bought the game. Can't seem to get to a green nat rating. Openend all recommended ports, and all other personal workarounds I could find, but to no avail.

Any word from Ubisoft on this matter? Or should I just go ahead and refund the game?

Help me out, brothers in arms!

It's probably your internet service provider doing the blocking on their end. You'd have to call them and tell them to open the ports you need.

Even with a green NAT you can still suffer from connection issues, since it's p2p. Killing the game.

Add an exception to your For Honor file in your firewall/anti-virus. Run as admin. Those two steps took me from yellow to green

Doesn't really help with my issue. Can't even connect to my buddy who's 30km away

Already tried that. Disabled all anti virus. Running as admin. Still no dice.

I would recommend using http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to verify that your ports are really opened, as sometimes it can be a little wonky. I've seen at least one brand of router where you can configure everything perfectly and it still doesn't open ports; could only be fixed by doing a factory reset and configuring it again.

It seems to check from some other ip, than the on my ipconfig shows. Maybe did the port forwarding wrong..

I'm not a super IT tech guy, so any help would be nice. I used my IPv4 address for the LAN IP address. I hope that's the correct thing to do.

I really need help here.

The only one port need to be opened inside, is udp 3074. The most easiest way to check out your forwarding, is disable firewall on PC and plug in twisted pair/optical cable(internet provider cable) in your PC bypassing your router. After it, NAT should be green. If not - your internet provider slice and dice it. If NAT green without PC firewall and without router, that means your router/PC NAT/firewall configuration is wrong. On router you need to NAT udp 3074 port from WAN input interface to your PC LAN IP address. On PC in firewall you should allow output and input connections for application "For Honor".

IP address from provider should not be from pools 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255, 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255, 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255. If so, you need to order "white" globally routable IP address for money...

I don't really have the option to go around the router, since it is sending the signal. Mobile Broadcast or whatever it's called.

I will try to mess around more with firewalls. How safe is it to disable the firewall in my router?

So I need to order a static IP, to get the port forwarding to work?

1) Its totally safe, if you won't go on dirty web and if your PC have no viruses.
2) If you do have IP address on you WAN interface from pools I've wrote, then yes. Because you are behind NAT of your provider in this case. And he's not going to forwarding port for your games. And after you have static white IP address, u will automaticly have moderate NAT(yellow). You still need to NAT udp 3074 port to your PC from WAN interface. All I've wrote before.

To more easy to understand:
Strict NAT - you are behind NAT of provider
Solution: Have to own static IP and do udp 3074 port destination NATed to your LAN IP. Also allow in PC firewall not only output connections for game, but input too.
Moderate NAT: You already have white IP, probably dynamic.
Solution: You need to only forward udp 3074 port. Firewall config.
Opened NAT: Probably you have no router and have no good firewall or you know what to do =)
