In the end, overall, I'd say you have to take a plunge and see how the game behaves for you specifically. It's a weird thing to say for a video game, but this one is kinda "individual" when it comes to plethora of things, even on similar machines/locations/connections.
The only other game I can think of that is like that is Battleborn (but only in graphic performance department).
This really inspires me to chop off another $60 for an ubi title....
It's not that most of us doubt stability to a degree. It's that as paying customers on pc we are acustomed to dedicated servers. Any attempt in stepping away from that is nearly always a fail.
Any competative game on pc that is p2p has failed. I would love to play this game, but this is why i'm not hitting the purchase button atm.
odds are the game gets overun with hackers and lag switchers in a few months and the game dies. All while people put up with the occasional "Changing Host"
Oh I've played since the first alpha and have been very excited to finally buy the game but P2P has been the one thing holding me back. Decided to wait a week or so to see how it all shakes out and if anything I am starting to think I'm over it.
You can read more about their p2p connection here:

If you can afford the game and wait for the refund in case you have problems, I can't possibly understand why not trying it for yourself since you just wrote you would love to play it.
Even in the bot modes it's such BS.
Constant game freezes. Players will join and then leave immediately repeatedly so your team keeps losing because hey that bot was replaced by a player then replaced by bot, then by player etc
Also sometimes during the P2P matchaking BAM! you get kicked to menu or the whooooole game will just hang until you exit the application. I just switched off matchmaking and play solo with bots vs bots right now because the P2P thing means 30% of matches freeze or end prematurely.
G G for an MP game.
P2P is honestly better in the case of 1v1's and 2v2's. It allows a more stable connection between fighting which is why fighting games opt towards this network style. Though in 4v4 it does get a little bit choppy, but never to the point where it's ruined my enjoyment.
That's not true. Dedicated Servers are always better.
Fighting games can get away with it because it's less cost effective and less issues with less people. But Dedicated Servers are always better.
