How long is the campaign?

just guessing but im betting about

2.5 hours total

ive heard its very short

4 to 5 hours if you are more of the casual type, otherwise less than 3 hours (excluding cutscenes).

EDIT: i forgot to mention thats im talking about the "normal" difficulty setting and not the higher once.

6.6 hours into it now doing the samurai campaign

So far Knights and Vikings were about 2.5-3 hours each, now into Samurai on Hardcore.

Judging from comments, even if you try to squeeze out as much time as you can it's still short and it's probably not even that sellar since it's a multiplayer game.

If you mostly interested in the SP, might we worth your while to wait for as sale.

how many campaigns are there? Didn't realize there were multiple (viking, knight, etc.)

There's 3, Knight, Viking and Samurai. The story has potential, but you can quickly see that it constantly makes no sense [like the so-important Warden having next to no importance after you finish the Knight story, only appearing ONCE and getting his/her ass kicked by your Orochi].

Finished the Knight campaing on realistic in about three hours, give or take. Imagine the other two campaigns are similar time wise. So maybe 9-10 hours for the average player (I'm pretty mediocre).

Playing on normal I've got some decent length out of it (Currently on the last mission of the Viking chapter) but then I've been trying to collect everying (Breakables and observables) Some of the campaign maps are pretty small so if you just run straight through killing all the enemies then campaign might not take you that long.

Well it is still longer than Resident Evil VII.... there is a 6 hour game that apparently you can beat in under 4. So in comparison :).
