Region lock, is that true?

Hello!

So ive heard, that if you buy this game in CIS/Chinees region, you will be playing only with these players, and never in europe/america.
Is that true? Because i was almost ready to buy this game (As im okay with P2P connection, microtransaction that literally boost only cosmetic and in-game currency and ect)
I really wish to play with everyone, not only with Russians/Chinees...
If its true, Is there a way around it, Maybe buy it with Uplay? or other sites, that sells games?

While a EU person myself i do not understand how the region lock is working.
Nowhere is explained how it works, and that is making me very cautious.
So until there has been a release of some info about the region lock(s), I wont be buying it.

Basically, if you live in these regions, you allowed to play only with them. In this case, if i buy this game, that is region locked to CIS/Chinees (As i live in CIS), I can play only with those, who bough the game in the same region... wich is kinda sucks.....

Still, i still have to wait, until ive got my answer

It depends on which version you gonna buy. I believe if you buy it through steam. you will have no issues. Idk about ubisoft. I've had a look my self on some non official sites that sell the game. and I've seen way cheaper versions of for honor. the price of the game was something like 30$. but it said that it was region blocked. so basically buy it from steam and save all the headache.

dude. its very simple. If you buy a Russian key. its gonna be cheaper. because your not buying the global version of the game. so 100% you gonna be region locked. but if you buy it from steam. you will be able to play it with everyone in the world.

It's not their fault though. Ubi simply locks the region down with the cheaper/limited version. It doesn't matter whether you actually live there, on a vacation or for a job contract. No exception.

Let me start from beggining:
If you buy this game while being in CIS/Chinees region, you will be only playing with those, who bought it too in these region, So if you buy it in CIS, you will be able to play with those, who bought it CIS region too.
If you bought it in europe, you can play with everyone with no problem (Exept for server issue, but thats another story)

If you buy this game while being in CIS/Chinees region, you will be only playing with those, who bought it too in these region, So if you buy it in CIS, you will be able to play with those, who bought it CIS region too.

I'll say it again. There's no indication the multiplayer connection is limited for that edition, apart from that source-less Reddit post of yours.

If they didn't lock those regions away, nobody would buy the full retail version, get it?

Ubi udnerstand Chinese make a pittance. So they charge them a quarter of a pittance to play. But someone who lives in the US makes a good wage. They even subsidize those chinese sales. Get it?

If the "quarter of a pittance" game could play with everyone, everyone would buy that version.

I mean really, a company can't even win when they take a loss intentionally. They're not trying to screw anyone, and you know it hasn;t got anytihng to do with your "vacation". The global version is available in Russia. It takes very little effort to buy it. You just want to pay the russian-only price, and get to play with everyone else.

It's not gonna happen. The company couldn;t stay alive if they did that, and honestly? Odds are those region-specfici servers lose them money. Instead of saying crap like "region-locks" just say... "thanks for lwoering the price where people are poor, Ubi. you didn;t have to do that, but you did. That's really nice."

No that's not how it works with the connection.
