How do I block guard brake?
I've seen people do it and I've done it myself somehow but couldn't quite get what I need to do.

Can anyone explain to me?

If you play the advanced tutorial, it covers blocking guard breaks. Basically, you counter it by guard-breaking yourself right before theirs lands.

You block it by using your own guard break after they use theirs. When someone tries to guard break you, pay attention and you will see a red broken shield symbol instead of the red sign on the direction of an attack. That's when you have to use your own guard break to counter it.

its pretty much luck its like a smaller than half a split second window to do it, its better to just attack when they are going to do it in a real fight, it interupts it and does damage, dont see why they didnt teach this in the advanced tutorial.
Yeah I have to admit I envy the guys who counter guard breaks by guiding themselves by the red shield symbol. If I don't predict the opponent will try a guard break and try it myself as well or just make a side dodge or light attack, there is no way I can defend against it.

Thanks guys, I will try the advanced tutorial.

You couldn't be more wrong and counter-guard breaking is not luck based. A BIG mistake that I made myself as a new player, until someone pointed that out to me, is to use guard break when the red shield appears. THIS IS WRONG. The red shield is only an indicator of the incoming move, not of when you need to use guard break.

Sorry for the caps, but... TO COUNTER-GUARD BREAK THE GUARD BREAK BUTTON MUST BE PRESSED RIGHT AFTER/WHEN THE OPPONENT MAKES CONTACT WITH YOUR CHARACTER, NOT WHEN THE RED SHIELD INDICATOR APPEARS.

Hope this will help you, cause it helped me A LOT.

Guard break is just to fast to be countered like we block an attack.... IMO we should have the same amount of time as we have to block a light attack from fast classes.

Quoted for truth, took me 15 mins to work this out, went from successful one every ~20+ times to successful 9/10 times. As he said, press the button when they make contact. If you press it any time before you will fail and will most likely be promptly on fire / impaled on spikes or falling off a cliff.

I should also specify the Guard Break is not always counterable. There are instance where you can't counter it. The most common situations are after getting parried, after a hit that doesn't connect and after an empty dodge.
