XP and Items are only awarded during matchmaking scenarios. Both are unique to each game-mode as well. Technically, the only mode where XP/Items are awarded for solo play is 1v1 (bot); which is greatly reduced in quanity and frequency.
Pretty sure I've been awarded XP from PvAI Skirmish/Dominion with no MM.
This is the first I was aware of it. I was under the impression matchmaking was required for rewards, as you had to be under the world map for multi-player (orders et cetera).
Thank you for the clarification.
It's actually a positive thing for the game's health. It allows people who have issues with network stability (peer-to-peer); to work on progression in their own time. I disagree with it being a negative thing for the game, especially with how the mechanics are designed presently.
Additionally, rep (character level) means very little, as the game is designed around skill, not time invested.
Single Player is a thing, and it's important to keep it viable. By allowing them to earn rewards for it, it allows them to play. Yeah they may not get the 'real' experience of PvP, but if they aren't intending to do so why punish them? For Honor's still a fun game even if it's just against bots, as I can attest to since due to my graphics card I can't really do PvP. Why punish those players for something that doesn't affect you at all and, in your view, only hurts them?
have you ever thought about the fact you can get annoying orders like kill 400 grunts or reach a 8 kill streak in dominion without dying alot easier than you would in pvp on MM on PvAi?
You both are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and did not read at all waht the post is about. The post is about having matchmaking closed and to be able to play matches alone without anyone = u can leave the game on and let it farm infinite steel/xp for you, which brakes the whole thing cause those who play legit and level up normally just sucks to see people suddenly being tier 30 with new heroes
If you don't have MM on, the game waits for you to select your hero before a game and won't start unless you do it manually (there's no timer). I.e. you can't leave the computer if you want new matches to start.
