Wildlife Park 2

Wildlife Park 2

This, or Zoo Tycoon 2?
I remember back when I had Zoo Tycoon 2 a LONG time ago.

Now I really want to play it again, so I plan on buying another copy online, my question is though, if people consider this game to be better, and why.........?

This for sure.
As far as i recall- and i could be wrong, i havent played ZT in forever- it has a grid-based build system and very strict controls. WP2 has a pretty free build space and you're able to control a lot of things. Plus, this one isn't as laggy (for me at least.)

I personally found ZT more challenging in terms of scenarios and managing finances. So far, WP2 has been incredibly easy. That said, it does have fine tuned environment controls and great animal graphics. So if you're after creative play and love animals, I don't regret dropping $20 on this and the DLC. If you're after a simulation/manager game, I'd probably look elsewhere.

I enjoyed this better than zoo tycoon 2. Lack of instructions has been a draw back and some bugs, but overall I like. Making money in WLP 2 is easy...perhaps a drawback, but the animals can be very expensive so it balanced enough for me to have fun.

It more depends on what you like most of games like these. Do you care more about caring about the animals and wish to actually walk among them? Or are you actually much more interested in how the business and well-care of both visitors and creatures work out? Are you just a complete perfectionist or just love creating whatever to your whim? Do you want to create a reserve, makeshift village, or any regular zoo?

For me personally, I actually have both. Granted, I'm looking to find and expand on ZT2 due to losing the expansion discs, but ZT2 always make you have a zoo entrance, yet usually give you a much more focus on the animals. With WLP 2, you can make anything else if you don't want to make a zoo, but if you decide to have people, you have to make sure they're completely happy too in order to be successful.

It also depends if you want a challenge or not, and what reward you want for it. WLP 2 has hard challenges the further in you get into the missions, but has little to no rewards. ZT2 gives you rewards for challenges and campaigns, but some of them may seem too easy at times.

I have both and I think it's personal choice. I like ZT2 better, but then I've spent hundreds of hours learning the game and all it's tricks.

I just bought WLP2 and so I'm still struggling with many of the game mechanics. I like the free form zoos and the antics of the guests and animals. And the petting zoo just makes me happy.

I would be happier if there were mods for the game and it really needs a good faq/walkthru, because I found it didn't explain things as in-depth as I would have liked. The time limits in the campaign missions are not my friends and I really hate the ground leveling tools and trying to dig marine tanks. But I suspect I just need practice to make it all easier.

WLP2 has a lot more bugs than zoo tycoon, but I will admit building exhibits and such in WLP2 is way more fun.

Zoo Tycoon 2 is infinitely better.

Zoo Tycoon 2 is pretty much a LOT better, but this one is okay and is on Steam.
