Oddities of nature?
While playing one of the missions, one of my goats gave birth. Nothing peculiar about that, of course, but it said that the new goat was "born as an oddity of nature" or something along those lines.
The resultant animal was, rather than the regular brown goat, a darkish grey goat.

What others of these "oddities" have you guys found?

Haven't seen anything yet, but theres panthers (black leopards), and albino alligators (or crocodiles).

It's just a alternate variant. Additionally (to my understanding) it also makes the animal more valuable. So unless you plan on holding onto it and breeding it, you could train it up and sell for a profit. Even if it's a goat, you might get something for it.

It was considerably more valuable, yes. About 1900, if I recall correctly.

as far as I've figured, it's awesome if you breed it on, coz then you'll get many, for each generation carries the gene. I got dark-brown ponies this way.

So far I had three crocodiles hatch that were white. It was neat

I did a mission where about 20 crocs hatched, all of em albino.

Do keep in mind though, that Albino animals can get a sickness easier.

I bred an albino tiger. :)

Basically, sometimes a mutant gene will appear when an animal first gets pregnant, but it has a fairly low chance of happening(5-10%). That is why mutant animals are so valuable, they have a 100% chance of passing on their odd genes to the offspring. These mutants are nvaluable in breeding programs.

I looked for it in the game files.
Here's the list with 'mutants' I found:
Elephant
-A beautiful white elephant
Bison
-White bison
Crocodile
-The White Crocodile is quite common, because Crocodiles have a high reproduction potency.
Dromedary
Flamingo
Goat
-Brown goats
Jaguar
-Black panther
Leopard
-Same model as the black jaguar
Pony
-Chocolate Ponies xD
Saurian
-I forgot what they look like, it's been a while.
Tiger
-White tigers
Tiger Shark
-Tiger sharks that are a shade of brown, instead of grey. (Or were they grey instead of brown?)

Mammoths have a 20% chance to be labeled as a 'mutant'.
This doubles their sale price, but they don't have a different texture.

Ive never known any of the extinct animals to breed oddities in the regular game. Though this might be different for the expansions.

Darn, I was hoping there would be albino deer.

Thank you for the full list.

Dang mart, you spoiled it (Idc but nice effort anyway.)

I've noticed that eggs containing oddities have distinctly different texture.

I have 5 black leopards.

I edited my last comment to represent what I know now.
Although it's been a while since I last played, I have forgotten a few things...
