I've never played ZT2 though but it's supposed to be good, just not as realistic. The animals look cartoony, which can be bad or good depending on your tastes.
Wildlife Park 3 failed badly and got abandoned by the devs, that's why there's no expansions, even though the game is years old.
Zoo Tycoon 2 doesn't have the depth that WP2 does and not nearly as many animals, it does do certain things better but the pros outweigh the cons.
WP3 - Last time I played, got lost with all those tools of animals, buildings, rotate, etc ((also laggy))
ZT2 - Has low gaphrics, but it was my favourite game, you can also remove all the fences, choose any biome, and spawn the animal that lives in the biome and watch their normal lifes, for example ; The wolfs go hunting in packs for Carbou in the Boreal biome, but the negative part is that you have to clean their poos and repelish every single food ;-; , but thats fixed with mods I downloaded, you dont have to repelish and the animals dont poo anymore :D
So i'll probaly get WP2 Ultimate on steam while it's on sale and then wait for a good deal on amazon for zt2 Ultimate Collection. Thanks for everyones help!
Zoo Tycoon 1 - This game was amazing. The animals were a little picky about things but the interface was great, the amount of animals available was good, and the overall game play was amazing. (There are some animal downloads available like the Blue Dart Frog.)
Zoo Tycoon 2 - Great interface, less picky animals, more types of animals although it's missing 1 or 2 and we don't have the Unicorn cheat... :( But this game was an even bigger step up. 3D animals, terraforming and everything. There are also communities that supply the updates that no longer come. Take a look at Zeta-Designs, thezt2roundtable and Aurora Designs. (These are the current and most prevailing sites right now. There are also lots of other places to get animal downloads.) With a few downloads and a little creativity, you can turn basic exhibits that you'd make in the tutorial to... well... this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ2mM-OgSQY
WildLife Park 1 - I didn't play this for long but what I did notice of it wasn't great. There were very few animals, very few objects and on top of that... the interface was terrible and... confusing. So much so that the interface was the biggest turn off.
WildLife Park 2 - I've never played this, but I can see the interface is much different and by the sounds of it, there are lots of new animals and lots of cool stuff. I wouldn't drop this like it's hot just because the first game sucked. Just... make sure you get it on sale just in case, yeah? Who knows, if they listened well to the critiques of the first game, this one might actually be pretty good.
