Not all multipliers are working, or are very unclear/misleading...
Damage and Defense multiplier from the Bestiary are not working. Or, if they are, they are extremely unclear on what they do. But I'm inclined to say they are not working.

I noticed something odd yesterday when I was clearing the Bestiary to get some Defense boosts. One of the slayer rewards was Defense Multiplier. Right after I got that, I checked my Defense and..... it hadn't changed. "OK, maybe it takes a bit to update, I'll check again shortly". Sill no change after an hour.

So today, I'm clearing more of the Bestiary and I get to Damage Multiplier. This time I took a snip of the Damage line so I could compare after getting the slayer reward. Aaaaand..... zero change. Before I got the reward, the final damage was 11.4k. After the reward, it's 11.4k. And none of the other columns changed either.

Since most other things are pretty well done for informing the player and updating the info, I don't feel like this is a result of the multiplier being unclear or misleading on what it does, tho I suppose that is possible. I'm far more inclined to conclude that it is not working.

I wouldn't think it would require an ascension to take effect since a straight Def +X is applied the moment you get it. But again, maybe it does....? With the snip I have I can easily check this now.

So are these bugged? Because at 11.4k damage, I should be seeing a change the amount of that final column, even with +0.08x.

the multipliers from bestiary are tiny, and all multipliers are additive with each other. it's very likely the multiplier you gained was not enough to make 11.4k become 11.5k.

as an example, my current stats:

damage: 680, 35.5k, and 1.03k (total sum 37.21k)
multipliers: +0.6x, +39x, and +9.15x (total sum +48.75x)
final value: 37210 * (1+48.75) = 1851197.5
in-game final value: 1.85m (correct)

to go from 1.85m to 1.86m i would need a multiplier of (1.86m / 37210) = 49.99x, or +48.99x, or +0.24x more than what i currently have.

looks like it all checks out.

I considered this. Until I got another Damage multiplier of 0.1x that made it go from 11.4 to 11.7. So I should have seen a change with the 0.08x if 0.1x made it go up by over 200-300.

And no, it doesn't all check out.

Manually adding my own stats, my net Defense ATM is 34.9k (222 + 33.3k + 1.38k), with a 11.62 multiplier, which comes out to 405.5k. Defense total showing in game is 406k.

So it's working as expected for me.

Are you sure?

Like I said above, I got a 0.1x multiplier and it went from 11.4k to 11.7k. But prior to that, I got a 0.08x multiplier and it didn't change at all. A 0.02x difference between the two multipliers would not be enough for the lower one (0.08x) to not show a difference, especially when the larger one (0.1x) was enough to make it go up by over 200.

Two people are focusing on the wrong thing. I honestly don't know how I can be any more clear what the problem is. You're looking at the numbers after the fact. I'm talking about getting stat changes that may not be applying. Two different things.

Again, like I said above.... I should have seen a change with the 0.08x multiplier if the 0.1x multiplier made it go up by over 200-300.

I was hoping the dev would see this so they could look into whether some multipliers are not working/applying properly. Like with the issue with projectiles not being destroyed that was fixed with a recent patch.

I added up all the values manually and it matched what the game reports within the bounds of expected rounding errors.

So it's working as expected for me.
