Co-op on a ship

In the demo when playing co-op it felt like there was nothing for a co-op player to do on a boat since one person would helm it and do everything. Is that being rectified at all in the EA release?

They've made it possible for players to man cannons on friends ships in the EA launch, I wouldn't expect it to expand much beyond that for a while tho.

1. They want the game to be accessible to solo players, where all ships can be fully manned by one person no matter the size.

2. Unlike Sea of Thieves, wind is not a key factor in sailing so adjusting direction of sails is kinda pointless with how it works right now

3. The game has a very basic damage system for ships right now, leaks and structural damage is yet to be implemented

I'm all for them expanding it in the future but multi-crew needs to remain 100% optional, given that you can play this game offline solo

instead of manning a single cannon, your friend should be able to command the entire side of the ship, this will make it 100% possible for one or two friends to have fun with you on one ship

They do, but the question was for if you are going to play on your friends ship in co-op over your own. This way it is optional to sail your own with your friend or join their crew and sail with them. Options are always better, imo and I'm very excited to see what else is to come!!
