Can't Join a multiplayer server

So my friend has setup a server for us all to play on and they can join and a few of our friends can join with no problem but when I try and join I either get the loading screen for 20 minutes and then the game closes or I get a black screen and then the game closes. I've tried Single Player and that works fine and I have completed the tutorial questline in Single Player and the server still wont let me join.. any suggestions on how to make it work

check your modem and router securities. My xfinity router randomly flagged windrose as a threat and was blocking it.

already done that and still not working so ive uninstalled and deleted profile folders and now reinstalling

You checked your actual modem and router? Not just windows firewall...

Test if you can join another public multiplayer. If you can't this is a network issue with router/firewall settings. Sounds like a network issue if you can play SP.

the thing that worked for me was load into a single player game first, exit to menu then load into the server. That fixed it for me and 2 of my friends also having the issue

i finally managed to join my friends multiserver but it took me so long too. I had to look at my internet router and its connections... it was a pain

I ended up joining the Windrose discord to see if anyone else was having the same problems and a few were and had managed to figure out what to use to actually get the connection to work and that was Cloudflare WARP.

Having exactly the same issues, have verified game files, re-installed the game, turned off firewall and vpn, etc etc and still cannot join a friends server (I use the term friend loosely) so need to try the discord route if that worked for you.

Hello guys I think I found my fix for this problem, I cant connect with my wifi router already using warp vpn, radmin vpn, disable firewall, re install windrose, allow windrose connection in router. But I tried using my mobile phone data with usb tethering and I can connect with my friends but using mobile phone data make my ping above 230ms. I tried to play with that ping for a weeks but one day I tried to play with my friends using my phone tethering but I forgot to disable wifi from my phone so it still connects to my wifi, and somehow I can connect to my friend server with a low ping around 40-100ms. I got surprised and try to find the fix and ask chat gpt, I found that using usb tethering with phone force connection to ipv4 while windows usually use ipv6. So I tried to disable ipv6 in control panel, ethernet properties/ wifi properties and restart. Now I can connect to a server without any phone usb tethering. Sorry about my english, I hope this can help you guys
