Traderuns are a mechanic where a player carries a pack of a certain variety of goods (usually a foodstuff) from one point to another then turn them in to a trade person for either gold, resources, or gilda stars. The actual value of the tradepack depends on how far you travelled as well as from which zone the pack originated, as well as how common that pack is.
Each zone has a specialty workbench that allows the creation of these packs, however the actual type of tradepack depends on the zone, with each different tradepack requiring different mats and requires the player to use the specialty workbench for that zone.
For example Sandeep medicinal pouches require medicinal powder and avacadoes. The medicinal powder and avacadoes can be made/grown anywhere - preferabbly on your own farm if you have one. If not you can still use a public farm regardless of patron status. However you have to actually construct the tradepack with the required mats (plus a quality certificate that costs 50 silver) at the specialty bench in Sandeep. This can be quite risky as Sandeep is a PvP zone, however the tradepacks you can construct there has the highest value. ~8-9 gold typically if you turn them in in Crescent throne or Gewyenoid.
The value of the tradepack also depends on how many of that tradepack type has been turned in to the trader. If there hasn't been many it could be as high as 130%, or as low as 70% if it's common.
International trade runs, ie. traderuns to the other continent, are risky but are a great way of getting some extra gilda stars as well as obtaining rare crafting ingredients such as stabilized charcoal and crystal stabilizer.
All this may sound quite dangerous but keep in mind most zones have a specialy bench and two associated unique tradepacks, even the safe zone. It's completly possible to just do traderuns only in safezones but your profit will not be as high.
Risk vs. Reward!
