Macros are against the TOS. But of course you can probably get away with using a razer mouse or maybe simple Autohotkey scripts. You will probably be put on a list if you macro farm for long periods of time, though. They mentioned they implemented a bot detection system during livestream. No doubt in my mind it will turn up a bunch of false positives for people who light macro during gameplay or place heavy objects on W to stay online for LP gain.

You didnt have macros for healing or CCing your foucs target...or for buffs you must have been amazing lol

I don't know what you would need macros for.
I have a MadCatz R.A.T 5 and use mouse buttons 4 and 5 to emulate shift and ctrl so i can use 3 hotbars at the same time without switching. That's the only reason i can think of. I don't even think that this actually is called macro.

And auto run does not prevent you from being kicked for inactivity. It used to keep you online but it no longer does and hasn't since about 1 or 2 weeks after launch.
People put heavy objects on the keys because it's actually a key being held down and the game thinks you're actually there (because with auto run there's no key inputs it still sees you as afk)

And to OP. Randomly using macros every now and then will not get you banned because that kind of thing is hard to detect. It's the ones who macro to farm then go afk. They repeat the same cycle over and over again with the exact same timings on key presses. Most MMOs keep a log of stuff like this so they can check it and when it's repeated over and over the exact same cycle/timing it's obvious when someone is macro botting.

Also I hope they don't do an automated system for this. Their automated ban system for chat is already bad enough. I remember my guild leader being banned for a few days (only got access back after doing live support and waiting hours in queue) because he said "wow that's a lot of gold" after someone in our guild got a TS tree back about a week after launch.

"a lot of gold" was a bannable phrase in their automated system.
