You're using someones portal, that they opened to get to their destiny, not yours. You have to jump into the portal for it to work, so if you wanna go thru it without teleporting, stop jumping, just walk.

You have your own portals (that cost a hereafter stone to create) and you have a recall tome thats free, and can be used whenever you want to "get back", just set your recall location to somewhere you think works for you.

As for red players attacking or not, just because they're red doesn't mean they will automatically jump you, alot of people are also just trying to do their quests and stuff. In your specific situation, i think you might have been near a dungeon entrance, and thats a peace zone, there can be no pvp.

You get a glider and mount through the sidequests in the game (yellow marked quests), so there is some importance in following them. Alternatively, find a stable that sells a baby you have to raise, and go to mirage isle for glider designs which you then use to make and upgrade your glider.

Which one specifically will depend on your race, but generally you'll come across the sidequest for your mount in the level 9 to 12 range. What race are you in the game?

So your mount should be in the Aubre Cradle area, from an NPC named Villager Hartzan.

While the uploader is Russian, the video should help with the location:

Death brings an exp penalty and damage to your equipment, so you'll have to repair it. If it's from a player of another faction and you're in a zone that's hostile/war, you'll lose honor points if you have any.

You're correct on areas like Sanddeep, Ynyestre, and other areas that cycle between peace and war. Note the ocean is always conflict and war.

ArcheAge allows you to usee three skill trees to create a class. So you could have Archery, Battlerage (sword), and Sorcery, or Defense (shield), Archery, and Vitalism.

Yellow portals are the "destination portals" - where players are coming from. Green would be where they're going to.

The only way you'll lose something of yours is:
1) If you're carrying/transporting trade packs through a hostile zone or a zone that cycles to war - Cinderstone, Hasla, Diamond Shores, the open sea, Ynyestere, Rookborn, the "red" spots on the map that occasinally go into peace.
2) Putting something down that isn't on your own private land (if a subscriber). For crops and trees, if it's in a public NPC farm you have 24 hours until it becomes public (and then anyone can take it). If it's out in a random spot in the world anyone can take it at any time.

Depends on who you run into. Honor points are obtained by killing players of the other faction, and that helps push a zone to war after enough people are killed. After the war cycle ends, the zone enters Peace for a period of time - some like to use this time to transport tradepacks since there's no risk of being attacked.

More or less.
Archery skills work similar to Defense skills, where if you don't have a shield equipped you can't use a majority (if not most) of the skills in the Defense tree. So if you don't have a bow, you won't be able to use a majority of the Archery skills. The way characters use equipment means you'll always have a bow equipped though.

Sorcery skills don't require a specific weapon to be used, though you get additional magical attack points if you use something like a staff or septer.

oh so like there are weapons now? i think when i playd last there werent like weapons, but like you just like did bow if you archer class.

and like with the war thing, like what makes a place get captured? oh and like the 2 factions, they are like, always at war with eachother right?

last i play was like a bit after game launched, whats different since then?
and thnx so much for help.

Far as I know it's been that way since launch. To be more precise, archery relies on the agility stat as a primary, a good amount often comes from the bow you use, followed by leather armor, and then everything else. That's more detailed stuf for later on when you're trying to get equipment to compliment your class at level 50-55.

There is no capturing unless you're talking about the Halcyona War world event or the Mistmerrow world event. The zones just cycle between peace and war based on the number of players killed. Drop rate for mobs is increased when a zone is in war as well.

Not too much has changed honestly. There's been more additions, and some modifications. Dungeons are there to provide an alternate means of getting equipment outside of crafting, the recent changes brought by the Revelation update, but a good chunk of the game's remained the same.
