If I recall, the newer versions required internet connection for registration and online play. There are ways around the registration though...
What version of the installer do you have? I have a DRM free v2.0 edition I am currently using right now (for actual playing) but I have tools that may unlock other versions as well. I think there was also a 3.0 for Windows (my PocketPC version is 3.0) but I do not remember at this time nor can I find it anywhere. If anyone has a newer installer than v2.0 for Windows, I could maybe get them working for the community of this neglected game.
You can download UNLOCKED Atomic Cannon v2.0 for Windows here: https://wormhole.app/Z69O6#iIkLZwBsekPFeMEriDe6Ug
Or here: https://www(dot)mediafire(dot)com/file/hlcck4h6ik5i47d/Atomic_Cannon_2.0.zip/file
(Replace (dot) with . because the filters don't want me to help XD
Works fine on Windows 10 for me. Just install and play! No registration or internet required. :)
After some thinking, I really don't think the developer is interested in being liable for a 20 year old game made for systems that aren't in use anymore. I still play this game on my XP PC and Dell Axim x51v PDA and it is a shame that such a great game has not necessarily been abandoned but just neglected due to lack of financial incentives. This is the way with most contemporary mobile developers though - money first, customer satisfaction irrelevant.
Just do the right thing James Bryant - give these people what they paid for. I saw a slogan on your website that says "I stand by my games!" and you are not living up to that claim one bit with these casual brush offs about dime-a-dozen mobile garbage promises for a game that very few are interested in unless they already paid for it. We don't want mobile crap - we want the Atomic Cannon that we paid for.
Care to elaborate? Here's what VirusTotal shows: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/017217a6ae67b9b60fb4b70dcae08188455f926ca61a1e7e24820681802f6888
Two false positives is all I see and that is normal with cracked games. Download and play it if you want - this is the only place to get it on the clear net. If you are so paranoid, just play it in a VM or on an offline PC like I do.
If you have something to claim, provide substantial evidence to the fact. I see you claim to be a programmer but with no explanation of your accusations you come off as an ignorant troll.
Ah, Wacatac... This one I see all the time and most of them are false positives. I think it has to do with modified EXEs or something with deleting directories as part of the installation. My Defender didn't trigger for the EXE and the game runs flawlessly on Windows XP - 10. (Probably 11 too but 11 is garbage lol.)
Like I said, use this if you want. I use it and I have no problems. Paranoid? Run it in a VM or an offline machine if your tin foil hat isn't cutting the bill.
I play this on Windows 10 with an i5-9600k, Windows XP with a Pentium 3 and a Dell AXIM x51v running Windows Mobile 5.
