You really need the nvidia physix driver from the game directory.
And reboot (the system does not tell you).
Game works fine now and i dont have crashes or framedrops. Is nice to play with 120+ frames. It is so smooth and clear. :-) Poor console players with their 30 or 60 fps games. :-))
When I start the game via Steam the screen turns black and back to the desktop within less than a second.
What I tried so far:
- Starting with latest Graphics and PhysX drivers installed (before and after reboot of PC)
- Starting with only the PhysX drivers installed that are present in the Steam folder of the game (deinstalled the latest ones prior to this). The game was started before and after rebooting the PC after installing the PhysX drivers from the game directory
- Starting with the PhysX driver installed that some people linked to (9.14.0702), before and after rebooting the PC
- Starting with the PhysX legacy driver installed that fixed similar problems for me for Two Worlds, before and after rebooting PC
I tried to have the PhysXloader.dll present in the game directory most of the time as well, but I am running out of ideas how I could get this game to work for me.
Is there anything I'm missing? My system specs are the following:
OS: Win 7 Professional 64bit SP1
CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K (3.2 GHz)
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
Deleting the actual nvidia physics driver and installing the driver from the game directory is the correct way to make the games working.
But when you say that does not work for you maybe there is aonother driver problem with your grafic card?
Can you try to install a older one? Maybe a 2xx? And reinstall the physics driver from the game directory again. Check the game after rebooting the pc.
If that does not help try the newest driver for your grafic card.
Or try do deinstall everything of nvidia drivers, clear everything with CCleaner or another tool and delete nvidia driver install folders from c: and reboot. Windows will install his own drivers for the card. Install physics from game directory, reboot and try it.
The trick with the original windows driver hepled me with a problem with my AMD driver some time ago. i made a update and then there was a problem in some games and reinstalling the old driver didnt help me and only a total clear of the system helped me to solve the problem.
I hope you understand what i want to say. ^^ Good luck.
I honestly do not want to install a more than 2 year old NVIDIA driver on this PC, as this will probably have a negative impact on any other (more recent) games I have :(
I now installed this game on an older notebook with an AMD graphics card and after installing the PhysX driver manually and rebooting it works on that notebook without problems (except the notebook being a bit old and thus not being the most optimal thing to play this game on, but it will work XD).
Thanks for your help!
