Game Crashes On Launch

I know this has been discussed, and I wanted to mention that I too have had this issue. In fact I wanted to leave a review warning others, however you have to have 5 minutes of playtime...which obviously I'll never get until this is fixed. I have done everything suggested in this forum, and the only thing that worked was the patch from the dev website. Of curse this negates Steam achievements and trading cards. As far as I'm concerned, that lacking functionality makes this remain an malfunctioning game. I realize I didn't pay much for it, but I did pay. I've purchased over 250 games from Steam, and as a paying customer I'd really appreciate this being fixed.

Same here i get the" failed to create direct 3d device" error. all latest drivers all windows updated complete, 780ti high end machine

Game won't launch, so I've wasted my money!
First game for me to buy from Steam....not a good first impression.

A link for a fix is in two other recent treads about the game crashing on starting.And if you verify the game files after the patch steam overlay and achievements work properly.Have fun playing :)

I have tried that, and verified the cache as well. Running Faery.exe then works until I pull up the overlay, at which point it crashes to desktop with a "stopped working" error.

Edit: Nope, after verifying game files, it then crashes on the opening screen regardless of trying to pull up the overlay or not. Definitely not a fix for me.

B. Please post your configuration:

1. Press the keys WINDOWS (bottom left) and R.
2. Type DXDIAG and click the button OK from the Run window.

System tab: Windows version, processor model (Processor) and the amount of RAM memory (Memory).
Display tab: name of the graphics controller (Name) and the driver date (Date).
Audio tab: name of the audio controller (Name) and the driver date (Date).

try running Faery.exe instead of SteamFaery.exe . It's in the game folder and will run without steam. Which means no achievements tho

Me too (Calamity Jess Original Post) ... Frankly you're a bloody disgrace! People should not be having to make alterations to their drivers/computer's to get this game to work ... Steam should kick you off till you get your act together... you're taking people's money under false pretences this game should be compatible
