The Undead Race
If you've poked around in the original forums, WildTangent added in another race, the Undead which seems to be in the races.dat but isn't working properly in the Steam Version...

Hopefully, they'll add in an update. I'm interested to know more about this race.

You can check out it's bonuses in races.dat by opening it in notepad.

You'll also notice how each of the races are based on a "Class" the devs envisioned as well.

The Undead start out with the following bonuses iirc:
5 Charm Magic
5 Spear Skill
+5% Slash Resistance
+5% Piercing Resistance
+5% Ice Resistance
-5% Crush Resistance

Thanks, hope they add it.

Just figured out how to reenable it. Open Races.dat and remove the number signs from after the #Summoner Class. Save and when you reload the Undead should be available from the list.

There is perhaps a way with these .dat files to create our own race i guess, using all existing features, but mixed as we want.

I would find a way to unboycott races bonuses vanish when you created heroe and want later to add in another party team as henchman.

I did something similar actually a couple of years ago on FTS, should be similar in FtCK as well but instead I added additional Fighter,Mage,Ranger Equivalents for each of the races.(Cogger,Half-Orc,Shadow Elf & Human)

There are two files of that name. One with the undead and one without. Also, do you mean erase the part that says...

# do not erase this file marker

?

yeah that just don't erase up to that part. The one located in en-US in your FATE Directory in the Steam Folder.

I'am building that i think THE BEST TEAM EVER :

1st : AOE magic attack dedicated human (High attack magic level + critical + speed cast + debuff + AOE elemental/non elemental)
2 : defense dedicated human with group elemental protections, group heal, and reflect damage
3 : summon dedicated human with minions, able to identify & tp (but i don't know how to force AI controlled to cast spell i want henchan use)
4 : Clone from 1st or melee (cogger, half-orc) if need of tank & mobs mana eater

I believe on that team. I think if its possible to play entire game as human solo only, that team can't fail.

Shadow elf need line of sight to work and waste mostly his time to move to right location before attacking with ranged weapons, he is perhaps better with dual-wielding. Cogger will never get racial bonuses when hired as henchman. Half-orc can be great to destroy armoured mobs but can't aoe like human. And Imp didn't convince me.

The # symbol are used in the dat to make notes of items, monsters, spells etc.
If you want to enable the item(s), you can uncomment out the symbols.

Ex;

#[ITEM]
#blah
#blah
#blah
#[/item]

into

[ITEM]
blah
blah
blah
[/item]

After deleting the symbols, the item is now enabled.

Does it cancel achievements if you modify or build your own items ?

I don't think so.
Atomic Noodles Nov 27, 2014 @ 6:54am
Nope, just like in Age of Empires 2 you can rig the game by making in-game scenarios in Fate's case OP race/weapon edits to allow you to breeze through the achievements. Though there is a slim chance that enemy mobs can also spawn with your rare equipment.

Interesting, I've never modded a game before but I think I might have to try it now.

added the undead race to my game as well. It is a quick edit to the .dat file and you can bring it out of hiding.
