Builds?
Is there any builds for this game? I mean, for example, can you play an elf, melee, full dex and still make it viable?

Or more specific, what does exactly stats do? cuz DEX says something 'bout increasing the chances of hitting and dodging, but whats the exact number for this?

I have a level 2X Half Orc but I find myself relying basically on the equipment. Since I had my first decent enchanted item, leveling up stats doesn't seems to be that important.. like it doesn't matter if I upgrade my DEX to increase my hitting rate because by itself I feel it does nothing. Even with the enchanted +dex & %dex + the 50-60 axe skill points invested It's like you need a huge number to see a difference. IF it makes any difference. I also readed somewhere that you only need the min of dex depending on what weapons requires to use them, the rest should be invested in strenght. Is it true?

Basically, just asking if stats do something and if I can make a build around it to play with.

The stats are mostly necessary in order to use equipment. Almost every item, with the exception of jewelry and a few other items, you need to reach certain leveled stats in order to wear the equipment. Armor requires strength, bows and some swords require dexterity, and robes/ staffs require magic to wield. In addition to this, they are used to increase your character's base abilities (how good you are without equipment)

Upgrading strengh increases your damage output

Upgrading dexterity increases the likelyhood that you will hit an opponent (attack) and decreases the likelyhood for you to get hit(defense) Whether or not you get hit involves comparing your attack and defense to your opponents. If your opponent has higher defense than you do attack, then it may dodge your attacks once in a while. Conversely, if you have higher defense than your opponent has attack, then you have a small chance to dodge its attacks.

Upgrading vitality increases your max health and max stamina. This upgrade is unique in that it is not a required trait for wearing equipment, meaning you can not upgrade it at all and still be able to wear everything in the game.

Upgrading magic increases your maximum mana, which is needed to cast spells, and is required for staffs and robes, and is also required to unlock spells.

Of course, you also need to use skill points.

I hoped this helped.

It did, thanks. But I'm interested in numbers. Vitality gives hp and stamina, but how much, exactly? Is it an specific number or a percentage? +1? Or +0,03% every point? Those numbers are the ones that I feel do so little, maybe cuz they're too small and are meant to be like that so you notice them in the long run, with higher numbers on a specific stat. Fate have 2.1 billion dungeons after all.. But I would like to know how exactly this is, to work strategies around those numbers. Thanks for replying.

With strength it takes a few points to increase the damage, but the others give noticable differences. You can see the change in stats by comparing them before and after you invest points into it. As for learning the exact specifics, you'd have to look at the game's code, or ask someone who has. To be honest, you don't really need much specifics to strategize for this game. Heck, some people do nothing but go fishing and get enough stuff to win the game. To have the most fun, I recommend not worrying about it and focus on hacking up the monsters.

I agree with you about fishing, I did that with my Orc, and bassically break the game now that I have tons of gold and great enchanted equipement. So am gonna start a new game in a higher difficulty and not rely on fishing. Thank you very much for answer my question :)
