Fate games crashing
All four games crash saying application error game will now exit

I've looked up this and for the most part it's not applicable or confusing

I don't know if most of the help sights either rely on you having a specific folder or some way to literally code the system I'm on to work with the game or what but now I have a game I can't play and instructions that don't seem in my skill set or isn't meant to be done on my system

I find myself encountering the same frustrating message repeatedly. While everyone seems to be discussing Windows 10, I'm on Windows 11, and despite following all the recommended steps, I'm still unable to launch my most nostalgic game. It's disheartening not being able to enjoy it, and I'm at a loss about what to do next. The thought of parting with the game makes me feel truly saddened. :steamsad:

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode with windows xp? I found that to work sometimes with older games

I have successfully identified a solution to enable gameplay. However, a minor issue remains: upon accessing the inventory or map within the game, there appears to be a reduction in the game's resolution. Resolving this matter would undoubtedly lead to the attainment of a seamlessly functioning game. Your guidance in rectifying this concern would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't have any idea how to change the resolution

I think there's an option in the main menu of the games into? But I could be wrong best bet is to ask someone who knows far more then me

I think it would be strange if you did have xp in 2023, thats what compatibility mode is. It will treat the game as if you were running it on xp. Alot of older games don't do so well on newer operating systems, so if you use compatibility mode, it will act like it is running on older software and can sometimes fix issues you are having.

I have no idea how to change this on an rog ally

I had this same problem, and what fixed it for me for all 4 games was to disable fullscreen. To do that on windows, go to "C:\ProgramData\WildTangent\FateTheTraitorSoulSteam\Persistent", and open the config.dat file there with notepad. At the top of that file there will/should be the line: "FULLSCREEN:1". Just change the 1 to a 0 then save and close the file, and the game should boot right up.
