Crash on menu. Out of ideas. Please help.
Wildtangent support gave me the runaround, saying to contact Steam, who doesn't support third party games. Awesome customer service, guys. You, dear reader, are my last hope.

Both Traitor Soul and Cursed King crash upon trying to load the menu with with a memory access violation error (c0000005). I've disabled positively anything I could think of to try and get it to run, TWO different fresh OS installations (Win 10, now 7), rolling back to old graphics drivers, disabling Steam overlay, disabling cloud sync, deleting config and save files, nothing works, despite it working just fine only a month or so ago! Is this one of those weird games that panics when it's not installed to C or something?

OS: Win 7 SP1

RAM: 16GB DDR3

GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 960 (Drivers version 375.70, also tried 368.69)

CPU: Intel i5-4690 (3.5 GHz quad core)

Mobo: ATI Z97-G54 Gaming

Remaining background programs I haven't stopped: Steam (natch), Gmail Notifier Pro

Both games verify just fine.

I tried modding this a while back when I started having this issue. Could it be that the Steam cloud somehow held onto the poorly-modded files and redownloads them even if I choose not to sync? If so, how can I delete them from the cloud?

try disabling steam settings > cloud > enable cloud synchronization

Tried that. Still no dice. Trying going offline with Steam. Dunno why it would help.

EDIT: It helped somehow. Offline mode has the game run and play just fine.

EDIT 2: I tried starting a non-Steam program (Notepad++) before launching the game. FATE booted and played fine. I am assuming the issue is something to do with Steam claiming what game you're playing.
