Questions or Want Tips? (New/Returning/Curious Players)
Several people in other forums have many questions about this game but not many people feel the actual need to answer them, making people give up on the game. For anyone who is actually new to this game, WOW! Thank you so much and welcome to Fate! As a veteran player, since the release of the first game, I have a lot of hope that this game will be brought back into light by a great remaster. In the meantime, anyone joining us late is helping bring some more small attention to the game and every player brings more, so thank you!

Now if you have questions, no one has responded to you or you have had a really hard time looking up any information, I am happy to help! Much of the information is hidden in the code, even if I dont already know the answers and I am happy to look things up for players. Over the years I have had to learn almost all my sources of information of Fate by physical action, but you don't have to spend years in trial & error! Ask here! If you have anything you want to know, I want to see new players enjoy the game so I am more than happy to assist any new/returning/unsure Fate players. With how many unanswered questions are left here on the forums, I can tell at least some help is needed for the player base to have a full understanding of the game.

If you have more indepth questions, feel welcome to message me personally. Have fun! This game is definitely worth it!

Is this the sort of game where you dump points into Magic for mages and Strength for everything else? Or is it better to be well-rounded.

As an aside, this reminds me a ton of torchlight- I'm actually really enjoying the game so far.

The game is mostly based around building towards one type of class but those classes can be super diverse. So my favourite is a summoner/archer. I got a lot of points into magic so that my creatures are high level but only into the Charm Magic and Defense Magic for the skills. When I level most of my points go into Dexterity or Strength but I will make sure to put points into mana in the early stages so I can heal and summon creatures. If you want you can go like battle mage, where you spend a lot of points in attack magic and strength, or a tanky archer with dexterity and defense stats. Its a very dynamic game that has a lot of different ways for you to play.

I'm pretty sure the same people made Torchlight who made this. Torchlight was kind of an offspring of Fate. I also think many of the developers were on the Diablo team before they started working on Fate, and were trying to make a Diablo like game that they themselves would enjoy.

Oh really? I just remember the Publisher being wildcard lol cause that damn coin noise it makes *CLUNK* and ears dead even at volume level 1

Hi, is there a kind of item later on that you can use to reset your status like some games? Or one that lets you reset your level after you reach a certain point?
Also, is there a way to prevent bad results in weapon enchantment?
Thanks!
I used to play this game when I was in primary, and have completely forgotten all the mechanics.

Unfortunately no for either of those :/ The closest that you will get is leveling up a lot before enchanting items from the enchanter. The higher level you are, the better chance at good stats and the better the stats tend to be. And if you feel like your gear lets you take out enough enemies to level up some before choosing what you want your points in, you can hold off on using the points until a later time if you can sustain it.

I see, that's quite unfortunate but still pretty standard. Do you have any tips on stats allocation in general? I've read several threads and apparently it's better to specialise instead of going for a balanced build?

Yes, going specific paths is usually the way to go. Normally how I would go about this is by making even the character race based on the type of character I want to go, get a pet that would work best with the way I want to build (usually those work well with their race but certain more specific classes may use other things, like a tank human can have a boar(At least in the cursed king game)) and then get a weapon based on the class I want to build as well. The quickest way to get that all started is by buying a fishing pole before anything else and spending a good 20min or so just getting items from the water until you get a 100k+ gold item to sell. Thats a really good starting amount of money and will get you enough potions, charms, and items to start you out on even the hardcore mode.

so basically vitality just every point you can afford to put into hp.
On one hand I agree but on the other hand I do believe there is a limit. The gear you get wont give you enough damage unless you are a summoner and using charm skill to kill most of your enemies (extremely effective and arguably the most broken tactic lol, but fun :3) then I would argue mages and such wouldnt need as much hp. If you stack almost all your points into mana you have a very good chance of doing so much damage the enemy cant even attack you. The point being that putting more points into the same attribute is going to help you the most. That said, dont neglect the other stats too hard or you will die as well. You do need it partially balanced, just like sacrifice a few points every 10-13 levels.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to ask which FATE game I should buy. I am asking because on the steam page of Fate the traitor soul. One of the top comments say that this game has all the games bundled but the page itself has nothing written about any bundled games so..

Technically it's true, as you have everything from Fate (town of grove) and UR (temple of fate, druantia, typhon) in a single game + more content.

You ony have acess to Grove in the steam version, as far as I know. Hardcore mode is also enabled. I played TS from WildTangent installation years ago but IIRC, I didn't have access to grove and hardcore mode was disabled. This may have changed nowadays, hopefully.

On the other hand, Fate The Cursed King is not included in the "bundle" because it's the last game and it does not include the cities we previously had acess to (grove, temple of fate, etc), BUT you have a completely new story, city and dungeons in CK.

My recommendation is to purchase both games: Traitor Soul and Cursed King.

I have a bit of a dumb question. If I start a new game, will it erase my current save?

Not at all. You can create many, many characters.

If you would like to pick one over the others, I highly recommend The Cursed King. The EXP values are a lot better, it has the allies system, and the game feels a little more complete. However Traitor is basically like a game bundle in-of itself so getting both Cursed King and Traitor Soul is what I would recommend most.

Never a dumb question unless the question is "Is this a dumb question" :) I believe there is no character limit. Cant seem to find anything that says otherwise. Im sure I had made well past 20, not sure how many exactly but as a child I never felt sure with my builds but was always so nostalgic I would keep the characters haha
