Clarification Needed

"Enabling Cheats will disable achievements permanently".

Okay, so I've beaten the second game through WT a few years ago, and just got this one a week ago. I got this phrase and obviously did NOT enable cheats.

But what does this mean?

If I go ahead and do this, will it freeze achievement progress or will I lose the completed achievements I've got as well?

It won't get rid of any completed achievements. It only freezes acheivement progress, but I'm not sure if it's only for that particular profile or for the entire game.

I'm still not clear on this. If you use the console ...any future game ever is barred from achievements or just for that character save?

I don't think I'll use it -- if I wanted easier I'd play Torchlight, and good lord this game is so much better than the version I had, Undiscovered Realms (I wanted to cheat on that game, I'll be honest). But you never know, stuff happens where a console can be useful.

I can say with reasonable certainity the game has no effect on other non-fate games.

I'm pretty sure one could even reinstall the game and get achievements to work again but it's not really worth the hassle to me, though usually I am not all that achievement oriented. I did want to try unlocking the camera though -- hopefully I won't run into a bad dungeon situation where I need to, such I read can happen on occassion.

Sucking it up as you say is probably the best thing if you care about the achievements at all.
