how does this game compare to previous assassin's creed game?

Sorry, I dont know. I havent played either. But this is a good place to ask.

It's completely different. Focus on stealth and parcour in a dense city instead of a vast, flat open world with focus on fighting and RPG elements.

Just don't go into mirage thinking the combat will be good it's freaking terrible one of the worst combats systems they ever made.

thats because open combat is discouraged. it is meant to be played stealth

and the game is way more enjoyable than valhalla. no 200 hour grindfest.

That's not an excuse dude lol you know they can encourage stealth and have cool or good combat right you know just like all the previous AC game's ever the combat in AC Mirage looks terrible and feels terrible the combat in AC Mirage was the worst combat I ever seen in any AC game ever the parry alone just looks terrible and gross.

Overall, it's a bit better than Valhalla but it's still not a good game.

• Significantly smaller and denser map
  
• Much less focus on stupid RPG mechanics
  
• Stealth is kind of better (not a lot)
  
• Story is equally as bad and absurd
  
• Combat is equally as bad
  
• Story missions/quests aren't in a set order which makes the whole game feel weird
  
• It still has the stupid bird vision
  
• Writing is still bad in general

Also - and this might not bother you but it really bothered me - (major spoilers for Valhalla)if you've played and completed Valhalla you know that Basim is the bad guy in the end, he tries to kill Eivor and is still alive in the modern day. This alone made me not care about Basim as a character at all because his entire future is already told.

Its too different. If you want to compare it to something, OG/Ezio era is the closest. This game is not very similar to modern hack and slash ARPG ACs (egypt/greece/vikings).

I play all AC games from AC 1 in 2007, the best AC are Ezio Auditore story. From your question I say just buy Valhalla, Why...
1. Campaign
2. Gameplay RPG leveling
3. Map is bigger but not bigger like AC Odyssey, but Valhalla map are beautiful in England history

If you want original AC gameplay just buy Mirage, but I feel little boring play Mirage the map look same as AC 2 and the animation all same like copy paste.
I say AC Unity better then Mirage

Valhalla is hands down the greatest AC game on the market and the best RPG one. Viking era is amazing. Its my fav RPG!! The game does not deserve all the hate, its so good!

yes that is close second for me. But gameplay of valhalla is way better. I like the world tho and love alexios
