Fan of the old series - Will I like this?
Title I stopped after revelations or a handful of titles after because I wasn't big on the increasingly prevalent gear system and RPG elements kinda level gating everything. Cheers for any info!~

i think so
As a person who mostly likes spinoffs like Revelation, Liberation and Rogue, I liked the game, even though I've only played 7 hours so far. It's very nicely made and the map isn't littered with collectibles. There are RPG elements, but it's +8 (lvl 2) and +7 (lvl 3) to weapon damage, when the standard is 50 (lvl 1). But most of all I liked the interactive environment: Food vats and berry bushes to replenish HP; White pockets on people's belts that you can steal; overturning scaffolding and bags of spices.:steammocking:
Oh I forgot to ask, do I need to know much of the previous story at all to play?
Im curious as well, i keep seeing people say that it's a step back to the roots.
However when i look up gameplay i see the dude teleporting around with magic powers and doing slowmo mid-air knife throws followed by a 3 kill teleport sequence.

I'm a bit confused about that.
If you were a fan of the old-school Assassin's Creed games, you'll likely enjoy Assassin's Creed Mirage. The game strips back the heavy RPG mechanics and gear systems that became prominent in the later titles. Instead, it focuses more on the classic elements—stealth, parkour, and assassinations—just like the early games. There's no level-gating, so you can enjoy the gameplay without being bogged down by constant upgrades. If you loved the series pre-RPG era, this one feels like a return to form!

You likely will
this one goes back to the roots of the old AC games not like the last couple who changed it into some kind of bizarre rpg.
Enjoy collecting feathers though, and the game is janky.
Thanks for everyone who commented~ Im gonna give it a go!
i loved RPG trilogy and i kinda dislike how severely toned down that element is here (you literally have no RPG element except from 3 perks from clothes, sword and dagger)

so i guess yes

Slowmo mid-air knife throw is an optional skill you can unlock and has no lore implications; just makes it so you can actually pull off those shots lol. The teleport looking chain assassinations aren't Basim teleporting, it's him moving too fast for the animus to render what he's doing.

Not really but its connected to AC Valhalla since the Protagonist is the Antagonist of that game ,really liking the game so far. I know its short so taking the time to explore freely :itsmyground:

Probably not. This AC takes a turn down a route none of us wanted. It looks nice, sure, but it's somewhat linear and the combat is more finicky than previous titles. If you want to have a greater amount of fun, stick with odyssey and 100% that instead.

It's NOTHING like the origins of AC. It's the complete opposite. "People" saying that never played anything and are probably under 20. Not worth listening to.

I think you're missing the point.
Odyssey is the RPG stuff he doesn't want, idk if you played the older titles but origins, oddysey and valhalla are far from what assassins creed was.
Mirage promised to go back to that, hence the question if it's true and worth it for a fan of the original franchise.

Oh i might have misread your other comment, i thought you were comparing it to the latest titles.

What you say sounds very true judging from the gameplay i saw, but why do so many people say it is "back to the original"?
Is the actual parkour and stealth anything like the old one or is it just the RPG mechanics but toned down?
