If you're looking for more info on the origins, here's a great New Yorker article: http://www.newyorker.com/tech/elements/desert-bus-the-very-worst-video-game-ever-created
...
I'm going to find a way to cheat through it.
- You can pause the game by suspending your computer. Just make sure to remember in which direction the Limo goes when you suspend. Useful for bathroom breaks. A more convenient version of that is to suspend the game's process itself (PsSuspend would be my choice since I can do it remotely from the command line) so you could even get some sleep if necessary or play other games. Just make sure that you're in the middle of the road when you suspend.
- There are various USB "foot keyboards" that allow you to use your feet to perform some actions (in our case, going left or right). In typical driving games you'd use pedals for accelerating or braking but in this case they could be reconfigured to go left and right. This allows you to do other things at the same time as you now have control of your hands so you can type and stuff. Could even do some work like this I'm sure!
Probably not "the way the developers intended" but hey, it's been fun to figure out a good strategy and games are supposed to be fun and all that. I'll attempt this in a few weeks.
