How does jumping work?

How does the jumping work in this game? Sometimes the car doesnt seem to jump. Both with keyboard and controller.

To jump you must first unlock it after finishing the first area of the game and after that you can jump using Spacebar(Keyboard) or A(Xbox 360 controller).

I already got it unlocked. The problem is the car doesnt jump always as i press a button.

We're looking into this right now. It's a fun one since it's only happening on specific hardware, but we hope to have a fix for this as well as some increased controller compatibility soon!

Oh good to know. It's really annoying to be doing something and then die to the jump not happening.
