Characters' Tales of Origin
Hi, I'm attempting to figure out which folk tale/story each character and their name originates from, since each seems to, and I'm having some difficulty.

The Boots family comes from Puss in Boots, by my best guess, but I'm unsure where the name Pahset comes from, unless it's just a pun on "Paw". I haven't the foggiest where Adelheid originates from, or if Heidi is a specific literary character.

The Anderson family is most likely based on Hans Christian Anderson stories, but I'm unfamiliar with any of the characters the members are based on. Although I think Ande might be based on the Little Match Girl, but if that character was ever named I'm unaware of it.

Is Soh based on any particular wolf character from folk tales? Caesar seems to serve as a catch all for most of the big bad wolves of folk tales, but I'm unsure if Soh comes from any tale in particular.

Does anybody have any insight regarding these? Unless they're just names arbitrarily attached to the characters and I'm just reading too much into things.

Let's see, according to my notes...

Famiglia Oz is pretty obvious, Caramia is the Cowardly Lion, Kyrie the Scarecrow and Axel the Tin Woodsman from the Wizard of Oz (probably worth noting that the game is specifically referencing the original novel and not the movie, hence the "silver" slippers).

The Grimms are based on tales from the Brothers Grimm––Scarlet is little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel are... Hansel and Gretel, and Hamelin is the Pied Piper of Hamelin.

The Andersons are from Hans Christian Anderson's stories. Ande is the Little Match Girl, Aelling is the ugly duckling (Aelling means "duck"), Melisus––although I'm still not positive about the name's relation to the story––is a play on Thumbelina.

The Oscar Wilde crew are from Oscar Wilde's stories, Dorian Gray from the Picture of Dorian Gray, and Alfani and Manboy are the prince and the sparrow from the Happy Prince, respectively. Manboy's name is apparently derived from a Swedish pop song called Manboy though.

Heidi is based on the children's book Heidi. The naming is a bit odd since both the family name and Heidi's given name are actually just two different spellings of "Heidi" in Japanese so I opted to use Adelheid and Heidi (the shortened version of Adelheid). Peter is also a character in the book.

Robin Hood is Robin Hood (but seems to bear very little resemblance to his namesake).

Caesar and Soh are a bit... special cases and explaining more would probably get into spoiler territory.

Ah, thank you! Manboy's name in particular confused me, I was thinking it might be a crude reference to Oscar Wilde's rumored proclivities.

Do the Oz trio's names have any significance? You've explained their respective roles, but do their names mean anything in particular, like Lion or Tinman in a different language, or were they just neat sounding names?

I couldn't find any obvious connections with the names other than Axel being a mechanical sounding term. Caramia's name might be inspired by another song by that same singer as Manboy (called "Cara mia"). I couldn't find anything terribly compelling on Kyrie, unless it's a play off the greek kyrios for "lord" or "master", which I guess might fit his personality.

For Caramia, the best guess I've got is that it's either a play on the Italian phrase (fitting for a mafia) which means "my love." There's also a really old song out there on it.
Axel I assumed got his name from his old favorite weapon - the ax.
Kyrie I had to stretch for a bit, but I think it's another pun based on what he used to be - a *scare*crow, or something scary.

... all guesses, though.

Ok, so I ended the game and I still have questions.

SPOILERS UP AHEAD!

Caeser is the big bad wolf (and his route is my favorite ever, but whatever), but, who the hell is soh? I've being trying to figure it out ever since his endings (btw, I hate his endings, both are so sad, even the brothel one was "happier", at least the dominant one).

But, anyway, can someone enlighten me please?

Forget I asked, just discovered the book thing... god.

I just finished Soh's route and for some I think he's Toto because he's very dedicated to the MC and him and the MC think alike. Low key it kinda makes sense why he would hang out with Caesar just because if he is Toto, then it would be understandable if he hung out with someone from the canine family. I don't know, Soh has been dedicated to the MC since the first day they met and he knew about the illness. I feel he would have to know her beforehand. Sidenote, am I the only who was getting kinda yandere vibes from Soh? Sorry if this theory kinda sounds weird, I still a lot of endings to go through.
