Katanaut

why rougelite? why?????
the game is incredible but making it a punishing with only 1-life and the levels just being randomly generated instead of having carefully crafted stages with intentional setpieces is just a bad idea, you'd just be squandering the game's potential.

the game has awsome mechanics and abilitie, cool enemy design and beutiful graphics. the rouge-lite elements just bog the game down and and limit the player's choices

last thing: please allow aiming with the keyboard, it's really uncomforable playing 2d platformed when one hand must be on the mouse at all times, everything a mouse can do in this game can also be done with the keyboard

Hey thanks for trying the game, and I appreciate the feedback! To answer your question directly, as a solo dev, I'm making a roguelite because it's a bit more manageable to do alone. If you told me to make a metroid(a good one), it would take me many more years by myself, and a lot of funding.

Regardless though, I deeply appreciate the kind words, and the feedback :)
O WOW i thought a whole team was behind the game! that changes everything, what you have achieved by yourself is truly incredible.
let's hope your game will succeed enough to warrat a non-rougelite sequel

Thank you, I deeply appreciate it! Yeah, totally solo.. so any responses here or on any socials are all just me. I feel like I have 4 heads and 8 different arms trying to do everything :D

Thank you again <3
I love the game and sent feedback via the form in it.
It's fine being a roguellite to me... clearly you can't change direction at this point also even if you wanted, and you have a great product here.

Mind blowing it's just you.
This is better than games made by dozens or hundreds of people.

Sincere congratulations.

Thank you chaung! I have worked in the software industry for many years, however this is my first totally solo project. I appreciate your kind words!!
Oh wowwww, such a great game, and its only one person? Toby Fox and Eric Barone have some competition now.
I really love the pace of it and the strategies for different enemies.
The feel and movement of the game really takes me back to the retro days with a major modern spin if that makes sense.
I'm really excited to see what will come in the future and really appreciate seeing a dev, Solo at that, with this much inspiration and ambition.

Please know that what you are doing right here is what we need more of in the gaming industry as a whole. You have my eternal respect and gratitude.
These corpo's need to take a note from your gaming dream diary My friend.
