The Beginner's Guide

Anyone know an age rating for this game?
I'm 12 years old, played the Stanley Parable and loved it. I wanted to go into this game knowing nothing about it, as every review I've seen says that it's the best way to experience this game. However, I'm not quite sure if it's suitable for my age group, since I know it touches on some rather dark themes. I can't see any ratings from PEGI or the ESRB anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest a rating for this game.

The dark themes it touches on would be depression but it doesn't go to far with it and doesn't focus on depression itself to much. If you've played and enjoyed and maybe even understood the stanley parable then this game should be fine for you. Remember in the stanley parable where the narrator gets angered, distrought, and just plain upset when you ignore, don't acknowledge, or ruin his work? That's the kind of focus with this game.

If you do get it remember to keep an open mind for the story.

TSP and its demo had their share of naughty words, the occasional adult joke, and dark themes like suicide; if you weren't scarred for life by anything in that, you'll be fine here. I don't think anything in TBG really approaches that level at all, the depression and despair stuff maybe.

However, just be aware that this isn't a comedy. A lot of people came in to TBG expecting The Stanley Parable II and ended up angry when they didn't get it.

Can't really see what's funny, but hey, each to their own.

You're 12 and care about age ratings for one, secondly you're asking the community hub, and thirdly you're 12.

I don't think kids would quite understand all the points this game is making. I can definitely say it's targeted at an older audience.

Before seeing the video with people that are not children: Oh, a game by the stanley parable creators/???
After: >?_('??????')
I imagine most people that are not 12 would still not know what this game even means.

But of course, the game does make something very beautiful, sad how they wont understand it untill they play it.
